Gone Baby Gone 2007,  R)
Gone Baby Gone
One of the best detective movies I've seen in a while. It's every bit as excellent as the book.
2
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
This is honestly probably the definitive superhero movie. It features a twisted joker, who is much more authentic than the cute & cuddly Jack Nicholson Joker. Heath Ledger's last performance is one of his greatest if not the greatest.

Christian Bale gives a great turn as Bruce Wayne and as Batman, and Gary Oldman's Comissioner Gordon is amazing.
Only gripe:
Bat-voice: Annoying after a while.
3
Death Note (Desu nôto) (TV SHOW) ,  Unrated)
Death Note (Desu nôto) (TV SHOW)
A somewhat faithful adaption of the brilliant manga. The best parts of the movie are Ryuk, brilliantly and faithfully animated, and Ken'ichi Matsuyama's brilliant job as L. The movie maintains the twists and suprises of the manga, while adding a few parts of the story to make it more viewer friendly as an hour-and-a-half movie.
Ken'ichi Matsuyama is excellent as the eccentric L. He captures L's personality flawlessly, and even adds a bit more to the role.
The actor who played Light Yagami, while very good as well, does not quite capture the insanity of the character, yet does a very charismatic job of playing the character.
The movie maintains a creepy atmosphere throughout and keeps the feel of the manga intact. The only confusing aspect is the inclusion of Dani California by the red hot chili peppers.

28 Days Later 2002,  R)
28 Days Later
One of the best horror films I've ever seen.
5
Casino Royale 2006,  PG-13)
Casino Royale
One of my Favorite movies. Definetly the best bond film ever made.
6
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
The movie is brilliantly done, with all the right actors playing the right roles.
Especially Ian McKellan
7
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Amazing, once again the best actors for the roles. Especially for Theodin. The most amazing CG fight scenes ever done.
8
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
One of the best movies I've ever seen. Incredible acting, script, and everything. Ending dragged a little though. And depressed me.
9
Serenity 2005,  PG-13)
Serenity
Kind of biased as a Firefly fan, but you know what? who cares.
10
Metal Gear Solid 2012,  Unrated)
Metal Gear Solid
HOLY SHIT!
11
Karas: The Revelation 2005,  Unrated)
12
Karas: The Prophecy 2005,  Unrated)
13
Schindler's List 1993,  R)
Schindler's List
This is one of the greatest tragic movies of all freaking time.
It made feel sick for a couple of days, and that's GOOD.
The cast is excellent.
Have you ever seen Liam Neeson cry?
YOU DON'T WANT TO!
It made me cry!
It's tragic, intense, sad, uplifting all at once.
The soundtrack is excellent. As is everything else.
14
Bleach: The Movie 2: The Diamond Dust Rebellion 2007,  Unrated)
15
Star Trek 2009,  PG-13)
Star Trek
This was a great movie. Everything about it was done right. The pacing, the action the casting, the soundtrack. I loved this film. So much.

The franchise may follow this movie from now on and I for one look forward to a new star trek series. It's been getting stagnant and this saddens me...
