Grease 1978,  PG)
Grease
Koff Koff....This is my favorite movie of any genre of any kind of all time. It is the reason I grew sideburns. The cast had excellent chemistry. The songs are a part of history. I saw the musical and still like the film better. My favorite character is Rizzo. When I first saw it, I thought there was nothing cooler than singing and dancing in a black leather jacket. Twenty nine years later, I still do. Grease is the word.

The Phantom of the Opera 2005,  PG-13)
The Phantom of the Opera
I have seen the musical, loved it, but I loved the movie too. Joel Schumacher did a great job. Gerard Butler was incomparable.
3
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
AH-GUH! No words to describe the BEST COMIC BOOK MOVIE! The story was thrilling and riveting, all the characters were fleshed out organically. Great turn by Gary Oldman as Gordon. Sorry Jack, but Heath out did your Joker by a mile and then some. Some might have thought it too long, but I didn't want it to end.
4
The Wizard of Oz 1939,  G)
The Wizard of Oz
Yes I like musicals....Yes I like Judy Garland....Yes I like this film...
5
Iron Man 2008,  PG-13)
Iron Man
Spectacular performances for all involved. Loved it. Rivals The Dark Knight for best Comic Book movie. Definitely the best adapted so far.
6
The Transformers - The Movie 1986,  PG)
The Transformers - The Movie
This was the last movie I cried at...not counting Finding Nemo. I was young and the Transformers were my world at the time...to see Optimus die was tragic. All in all my favorite animated film.
7
Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie 1996,  PG-13)
Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie
This movie is a big laugh from begining to end. My friends and I quote it like dorks.

Kids in the Hall - Brain Candy 1996,  R)
Kids in the Hall - Brain Candy
Most comedy troops don't translate well to screen, but Kids did an exceptional job.
9
The Last Boy Scout 1991,  R)
The Last Boy Scout
This movie is my favorite action movie. It almost plays as a parody of the Die Hard films.
10
Road House 1989,  R)
Road House
One of those movies you break out when the guys are over. Loaded with machismo and stupid attitude. Kung Fu fighting with a feathered highlighted mullet? Whats not to love?
11
Unbreakable 2000,  PG-13)
Unbreakable
Well thought out. Well plotted and shows a unique understanding of the relationship between good and evil. Also everyone gives an outstanding performance.
12
Die Hard 1988,  R)
Die Hard
This is THE action movie. Mind you, my favorite action movie of all time is The Last Boy Scout, but Die Hard redefined the action movie. Alan Rickman was just as impressive villian as Bruce Willis was a hero. This was missing and replaced by a sidekick in the following sequels. Up until this time, you had bodybuilders running around in camo never getting shot or hurt. Die Hard showed a human fallibility with its hero which made him more accessible and therefore more relateable. Yippie Kay Yah!
13
Hudson Hawk 1991,  R)
Hudson Hawk
There is a fine line between brilliance and over the top. This movie doesn't walk it it tap dances all over it throwing itself across it many a time. I don't like Sandra Bernhard, but dang it if she wasn't perfect for the role in this movie. This was like a caper film written by the writers of Airplane!
