Scent of a Woman
This was Al Pacino's best performance to date. It's no wonder he won the Oscar for 'Best Actor'. His portrayal of a blind man was second-to-none. I love everything about this, especially the climactic ending when he defends Chris O'Donnell's character at the boarding school. This is a film NOT to be missed.

This is a great film, easily my favorite from Cher. The performances were great all around, and hey, anything featuring Sam Elliott is A-OK in my books. lol. It's a great story about a teenager who has to overcome difficult obstacles due to his disfigurement. You can't help but love Cher's character 'Rusty' who plays a cool yet caring biker mom. Her performance at the end is fascinating to watch. I also love the soundtrack which consists mostly of classic Springsteen tunes. In my opinion, this is easily one of the best films to come out of the 80's.

Léon (The Professional) 1994,  R)
Léon (The Professional)
I'd give this more than 5 stars if I could. This film is stellar in every possible way. In fact, I've seen it 10 times in the past 2 years. Jean Reno is fantastic as a loner hitman who befriends a little girl who's family was just brutally murdered. Natalie Portman turned in an amazing performance as well. I believe this was her first role. Two versions of this were released. "The Professional" which was a watered down version of the film released in US theaters is the one to avoid. If you want to see this the way it SHOULD be seen, hunt down "Leon The Professional" which is the version released overseas with a slew of additional scenes relevant to the story.

"Eurotrip" meets "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". That's the only way I know how to sum up this excellent horror flick. The first half contained plenty of sex and humor, while the latter half was non-stop blood and gore. With horror movies as tame as they are these days, this was a welcome change and reminded me of what horror movies used to be.
