*MASTERWORK MOVIE* about civilisations, manipulation and abuse of religion, destruction, good and bad in people....nations, civilisations.... MEL GIBSON IS DIRECTING_perfection - photographer, psihologist and great mind for making point.
MUST SEE ! But you'll have to research Virginia Voolf first - before watching it.
"Dear Lenard... To look life in the face. Always to look life in the face... And to know it for what it is. At last to know it... To love it for what it is, and then ... to put it away.
Lenard...Always the years betweeen us... Always the years... Always the love. Always the hours. "
Robin Williams is masterful and Sciorra perfectly mirrors her soul mate (Williams). Their performances encapsulate all the joy and abject sorrow human life entails. It's a movie that wants you to find real love, see beyond cynicism and grasp the idea of soul mate. And it's all presented in a stunningly gorgeous montage of exquisite colour and symmetry. ..................................and so much more................
One of the best independent film I've seen for long time. * Imagine there's no countries * It isn't hard to do * Nothing to kill or die for * And no religion too * Imagine all the people * Living life in peace * You may say I am a dreamer * But I am not the only one.
saddest movie ever... Is it possible and how WONDERFUL and DEEP person must be, to find bride side of life...in the DARKEST PLACE IN THE WORLD...in a war.... trying to make happy people
The colors, the framing, costumes, lighting, and the backdrops are gorgeous; like something out of a dream. If this was just a visually moving film, that would be enough but there is so much more. Tarsem Singh's direction is possessed. He manages to capture a kaleidoscope of emotion as diverse and generous as the tones and colors that deliver this movable feast for the eyes. The acting is extraordinary.
It is my sincerest hope that you find this movie as emotive, tender and touching as I.
I just love Alejandro Amenábar's movies! and this is one so special because of the topic. powerful ending. Ahh grrr that stupid fucking religion(s)! destroying all beautiful things in the World.
these days....you don's see GOOD movie that often....as in old times... GRAN TORINO is old school.... thank to Clint Eastwood ! and all I can say : this is what all movies should be
this warm but serious film is one of the most creative & unique work I've seen! shows the real meaning of the sentence "A picture is worth a thousand words". PERSEPOLIS is more than perfect! One of my favorites definitely !
this is like TOTAL *Lunch* style ! and EVEN BETTER : because there are no mixed up stories and several versions etc, but one story and another one - is metaphor - just to explain better :)
Scary with a touching story, gave me a couple of jumps while watching it....! Belen Rueda - brilliant performance !!!
Orphanage is the first film from director Juan Antonio Bayona and was produced by his long-time friend Guillermo Del Toro - director of Pan's Labyrinth.
The Orphanage is the best horror film of 2007 so far and certainly shows Hollywood the true definition of suspense. If you like films dark and brimming with mystery then this is an absolute must-see.
"What is a ghost? A tragedy condemned to repeat itself time and again? An instant of pain, perhaps. Something dead which still seems to be alive. An emotion suspended in time. Like a blurred photograph. Like an insect trapped in amber." !!!
This film is intelligent poetry on screen -mortality, love, hate, jealousy, greed and redemption are all explored. It's a story about love and betrayal and the miseries of war visited on a people. It has a lot to teach about the depths of human cruelty, and the grace of sacrifice.
Eduardo Noriega is excellent in his role. I love Del Toro's films.
... touching, meditating, new levels, meanings, brilliant details and fascinating references; BEAUTIFUL. The Title is heartbreaking.... Penelope Cruz was amasing.
Inglorious Basterds opens with the phrase, "Once Upon a Time... in Nazi-Occupied France." Personally, this reminds me of the opening of every Asterix book and movie, another comic fantasy in a war-torn occupied France. Like Asterix, Inglorious Basterds is howlingly funny in places, although the film also turns darkly serious. * Fantastic dialogues *
so deep movie...real DRAMA. Speaks about BAD SIDES of traditionaly interpretation...( read more )in of RELIGION, and bad people with their dark sides, how can manipulate with WHOLE SOCIAL GROUP OF PEOPLE : widows...making them miserable...whole life..without LOVE and RESPECT. Can only WATER make them " clean" ?! :( So sad...powerful movie.
Nothing - not her father, not the church - can stop Angela from being with her childhood best friend turned great love - another woman. Deep, beautiful.
