Hero
An instant classic. This movie is about an assassin in China during the Qin Dynasty. His sword skills are unequalled. His job is to assassinate the king. Instead he lies about how he killed the other assassins to get close to the king and persuade him to end the wars and killing. This is an exquisite piece of nationalism. The only thing that we as Americans have is the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Proof again that the Chinese are far superior.

Along with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and House of Flying Daggers, Hero is part of the resurgence of kung-fu movies of this millennium. You must see all of these movies. They have unrivaled action, cinematography, and use of colors. And the plots aren't that bad either.

Garden State
This is an excellent movie. Written, directed, and starring Zach Braff. It is about a guy who comes home after being gone for 13 years to attend his mother?s funeral. He reunites with his friends Peter Saarsgard and Alex Burns.

It is hard to describe this movie. It is weird but not confusing. It is crazy but fun. It has to do with relationships. Father/son. Mother/son. Mother/boyfriend. Boy/girl. Husband/wife. It is great to see how everyone in this film deals with their respective relationship. Peter Saarsgard?s character definitely appeals to me. He is gravedigger/graverobber who lives with his mom. Very interesting.

Rent this movie today.
