Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
A classic... come on it's friggin Star Wars... sheesh.
3
Return to Oz 1985,  PG)
Return to Oz
Better than the Judy Garland (1939) Wizard of Oz in my opinion. More true to Baum's books and thus a bit darker and without all the musical numbers. Fairuza Balk's (The Craft) movie debut.
4
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001,  PG)
5
Muriel's Wedding 1994,  R)
Muriel's Wedding
A really great movie that makes you laugh, cry and just feel good in the end. Toni Collette (from the more recent In Her Shoes) is awesome in this movie. Plus it's got a ton of ABBA music!
6
Young Sherlock Holmes 1985,  PG-13)

Pure 80's fun at it's best. I'm not normally a big fan of martial arts movies, but this one goes so far beyond that.

Sixteen Candles 1984,  PG)
Sixteen Candles
Probably the best John Hughes movie of them all in my opinion.

23
Pump up the Volume 1990,  R)
Pump up the Volume
One of Christian Slater's best flicks I think. One of my favorite. Just filled with angst, hate, sorrow and confusion... which is why I related so much to this one I suppose.
24
Mallrats 1995,  R)
Mallrats
The best of Kevin Smith's movies in my opinion.
25
Army of Darkness 1993,  R)
Army of Darkness
Bruce Campbell at his funniest and the best of the Evil Dead movies. Avoid the director's cut or original ending though. The S-Mart ending is the best and funniest.
