Utterly hilarious adaptation of quite possibly the funniest novel I've ever read. The cast are perfect. The direction perfectly captures the humour of the source. It's a real pity they changed director for the sequel. |

Nobody captures loneliness and the wish for romantic connection in a world where physically we seem so squashed-up together and yet so apart emotionally, the way Wong Kar Wei does in this and other films. Worth watching over and over. Also has a terrific score. |
