Another proof of how Hong Kong cinema could mix genres like few, and bring pure entertainment in a way big idiotic hollywood studios could never think. Lau Kar Leung directs sharp and fast fight sequences that never bore, and Gordon Liu shows a great display of skill in this one.... read more Must see.

Amazing! This combines meticulous fight choreography with compelling storytelling to make a timelessly entertaining film. Gordon Liu (aka Chia Hui Liu) does really incredible fight sequences against 7 Japanese warriors. And what I thought the young Liu was him because I recognize... read mored his face but except his hair. He's always bald in his past to present Hong Kong and sometimes Hollywood movies.

Wow! Pretty awesome movie starring Gordon Liu. Nothing better than good ol' martial arts action in this Chinese vs Japanese styles that are challenged when it triggers a rivalry against each other. A little bit of comedy as well in this cool Dynasty Dragon series of martial arts ... read moremovies. :) I loved it * This movie starts Gordon Liu and Yoko Mizuno. They need to add that to the cast since they were the stars of the movie! ;)

Another awesome kung fu flick from the Shaw Brothers starring Gordon Liu. This one involves Chinese Martial Arts going head to head against Japanese Ninjitsu. Fun stuff for sure with a lot of comedy thrown in for good measure. A chinese man is arranged a marriage to a Japanese wo... read moreman. They begin arguing almost immiedietly as to who's Kung Fu is better. The Chinese or the Japanese. The husband doesn't mind demonstrating the superiority of Chinese Kung Fu on his wife on a regular basis causing his neighbors to accuse him of beating his wife. When she finally gets sick of his bullshit she returns to Japan, but this doesn't slow her husband down any. He begins sending notes to Japan boasting of his superior martial arts skill, and mocking the inferiority of Japans. When her clan gets a hold of this they take it as a personal insult and challenge. They go to China and challenge him to a competition. He is to beat them one by one in a competition of epic proportions. Really not a dull moment from begining to end. The choreography is awesome, fight scenes plentiful, story good, pacing nice, humour refreshing and so on. Essential viewing.

One of Lau Kar leungs greatest movies ever. with fights scenes that are sharp, fast, detailed and enthralling, it is sometimes hard to forget it's plotline, which breaks negative stereotypes long been held in china. roughly speaking, this film is Shakespeare's Taming of the shrew... read more with kung fu added but it representsthe japanese (long-time chinas devil characters in movies, almost moreso then white guys!!) as humans and actually makes a comment upon the entire japanese-chinese relations at that time. If this film hadn't existed, I really doubt Let Li's fist of legend would have ever been made the way it was.

The choreography is insane. How they move so fast but still be able to show the audience every move is beyond me. It's also quite an experience to see Chinese and Japanese fighting styles clash. P.S. Gordon Liu has never made the Crane fist look better.

One of my favorite kung fu cinema movies, love every part of it!!! Shaw Brothers (almost) always produced the superior cinema of the day.

Really fun fight scenes. Japanese wife is a destructive bitch:) Rat man with sais and the crab fist are the best!
