His choice will determine whether humanity survives or is banished from the Earth; meanwhile, two oracles, Hinoto and Kanoe, have seen opposing visions of the future, and they struggle to make their dreams a reality. CLAMP's broad appeal with anime fans is beyond me, still to this date. At least everyone gets killed quite fast here. What a waste of X-Japan's Forever Love and "X".

Looks great! Loved the ending! Too bad about ... everything else.

    Beautiful and symbolic anime.

I saw the alternate series that followed this film first, and I'm glad I did. I probably would not have watched the series after seeing this movie.

While the art in this film may be praiseworthy, the overall story and character interaction just isn't that fleshed out or captivat... read moreing.

I like the movie only slightly more than the series, but the series is, by far, more in-depth and equally good. Then again, one can't rate the movie, or the series, or the manga....

    They all have different endings!!

The story can be a bit confusing to start. There are great fight scenes in this movie that lend to classic wire work in martial arts movies. Not a movie for kids because of the blood and a few scenes with horrific images.

A stylized adataption of the long-running manga. A very good job condensing the massive and deep story of X:1999. Lots of build-up and tension, however, the ending is pretty disappointing.

As a concept, this was amazing. However, having read what's been published of the manga, this was a real let-down. It was supremely rushed, and didn't seem to follow the manga much at all. I was thoroughly disappointed.

Visually it's incredible. The art is to die for, despite the anorexic style CLAMP used on the characters. My biggest problem with this movie is that the characters had little to no depth. Fûma especially, if you've watched the film you'd know what I'm talking about. This of cours... read moree is a big problem with many movies that are based off manga. The 97min. of this movie hardly did any justice to the 18 or so manga in the series
