Danny Kaye plays the first of his cinematic dual roles in Goldwyn's Wonder Man. Kaye appears as timid librarian Edwin Dingle and Edwin's extroverted twin brother, nightclub entertainer Buzzy Bellew. W... read more read more...hen Buzzy witnesses a gangland shooting, he himself is rubbed out by mob boss Ten-Grand Jackson (Steve Cochran, in his movie debut). Before long, Edwin is visited by Buzzy's ghost, who persuades his bookish brother to help bring Jackson to justice. For the rest of the film, poor Edwin is possessed by his brother's sportive spirit, causing no end of confusion for Edwin's demure lady friend Ellen Shanley (Virginia Mayo) and Buzzy's more outgoing girlfriend, dancer Midge Mallon (Vera-Ellen, also making her first film appearance). Done up in splashy Technicolor, Wonder Man is perhaps Kaye's best Goldwyn-produced vehicle, permitting him to play a character (or characters) rather than a caricature. Highlights include an opera spoof (a variation of which showed up in Kaye's 1954 feature Knock on Wood), Danny's allergic rendition of "Otchi Chornya," and a wonderful vignette wherein Kaye imitates all the "inhabitants" of a pet shop. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Oh what a comical wit Danny Kaye had!
Highly entertaining for all classic lovers! And if you are a fan of slapstick comedy and looney tune characteristic people, this is a movie you have got to see!

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! I Loved it as a kid and I never get tired of it. Danny Kaye is hilarious and great in it! The songs and performances are top-notch... It's kind of a fantasy about twin brothers that are total opposites. The nightclub singer brother gets killed and then as ... read morea ghost begins to contact his bookworm brother--it makes for a lot of zany fun! "Is this the bus to potato salad?" :D On "My Favorite Movies" & "My 5 Star Funnies" lists. VHS.

One of Danny Kaye's best movies and it's an excellent musical comedy. Great production values, good songs and score. Light and entertaining, great supporting cast. A delightful classic.

You will be saying "Prospect Park" and "Potatoe Salad" with a chuckle for the rest of your life. If you love Danny Kay this is a must see. He does a amazing job with acting, singing and dancing. But if you love this show another must see is "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty".

Kaye empresta toda sua histriônica energia aos dois personagens que interpreta, compensando a irregularidade do roteiro com sua graça habitual.
