Cute and said movie/story. It was kept pretty close to what happens in the book. The horses' acting, abilities were so amazing! Jeremy Irvine's acting was a little off/bad at times. There were a few kind of cheesy/lame parts in the movie. Tom Hiddleston plays a good guy! :)

The acting was really good, but it didn't make a powerful impression on me. Forgettable.

What I really loved about 'War Horse' was the entire different angle on warfare. For once, we didn't focus on a single being or a single 'side' but yet we seen the horrors of war from both perspectives and not only from the different soldiers perspective but from the civilian per... read morespectives. Furthermore, the movie showed a ton of different angles within the war (not stuck on a single foot soldier, air unit, etc).

I was totally skeptical about a 2 and a half hour movie that done nothing but follow a horse around the war but the insight in which it gave us to the war and numerous viewpoints while also keeping us intrigued from the perspective of an animal's role in the war, it presented its piece well, and I truly enjoyed it. It was a beautiful film that I would without a doubt recommend to anyone interested in this historical period or just in horses in general.

The only way I'd recommend not seeing this movie is if you cannot stomach the ill treatment of animals (not a fault of the movie however; simply reality) or you just don't like long movies. As I said, I felt it did a pretty great job at holding someone's attention, all the same it was quite long and I don't know if it's a movie I could sit through numerous times at that length but it without a doubt is worth a watch.

The horse is a jinx! A good film, if a little unlikely for 99% of the film!

When I heard critics call it schmaltz, I just thought it was their normal avant-garde whining, but it really is very schmaltzy. It's very much like a 30's western in a lot of ways. It's basically a melodrama as far as characterization, and the rustic 1910s farm may well be from t... read morehe middle ages, it is so quaint. The plot is predictably over the top. That said, the film is visually dazzling and has at least a couple of magnificently lensed scenes that will be remembered for decades. The cinematography is impeccable, the art direction and costumes are amazing, the color is great as well. This is a technical masterpiece that just has an incredibly infantile story to tell.

really touching, with some twists that are actually unexpected, good overall, way too perfect circumstances to be realistic though

    My Review
This is a film that in it's own way is narrated by the horse itself. The Film is narrated throughout the point of which you feel as if the horse named Joey is a character. That's what makes this film so great, you get connected with the horse because of how he effects people and cause of his friendships along his journey. War Horse is adapted from a novel by Michael Mopurago, this majestic World war 1 drama revolves around Devon lad Albert and his steadfast horse ,Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent off to France. To me the film revolves around Joey the horse and his journey in France, and in war. Steven Speilberg's direct is shown through the movie as well you can tell by the way it's shot it feels like a Steven Spielberg film. War Horse is a treat to good films that are also historic as well. War Horse don't miss it cause if you do,your denying yourself a splendid film with pure beauty and friendship and bonds through animals where you have two separate journey's. War Horse get's a 5 out of 5.

One of those films that are produced on a grand scale of the films of old. A romantic story that will draw you in slowly and won't let you go. A little long, but just when you start to feel the length of the movie it gives you a strong ending.

The beginning was kind of boring but the war scenes and ending were worth it.
