Another mindless summer blockbuster that wasn't able to convince me of its style. For the majority of blockbuster action movies, they either, a) Embrace mindless stupidity b) Make a character driven adventure story that has insane action set-pieces. Wanted tries to go with option... read more

some good action scenes but stupid Angelina Jolie just acts with her boobs and 10-pound lips.

Plenty of incredible action sequences, a smart script and some substantial plot twists make Wanted the a better-than-average summer blockbuster.

[Rewatch]
Wanted gets better with each watch! The film is slick, has a high level of Action, is fast paced and the impressive on many levels, adapted from a Graphic Novel, we go from zero to hero with an audience pleasing plot.
The graphics were highly impressive, with some ve... read more -

A downtrodden working stiff who wishes he had more from life discovers one day that he is a super-powered assassin who can bend the laws of physics. Hmmm...I'm pretty sure I've heard this somewhere before. Not to mention the "phew it was only a dream...oh wait, no it wasn't!" sce... read more

Hmmm strange one to call this, the begining of the film is quite good, we meet McAvoy who is wet and pathetic, which is quite amusing. Then we meet Jolie and have a pretty good car chase and gun battle which all looks and feels cool. But thats where it ends really, we discover a ... read more

A strong cast creates a strong performance and Bekmambetov does just that, the realisation, the lead up to the big finale and the whole action and suave, slick moves make the film even more enjoyable, not a single thing could make it better.

The fantasy here is that an office drone is transformed into a super assassin, which is probably the very thing yer Ma was hoping. Still a fun fantasy. Angelina Jolie plays the girl next door. Not.
Critic Reviews
Wanted is too bloody, too over the top, too silly, and too special effects driven. It's also excessively entertaining and fun. Full Review
It's made for fans of films that really just want to see some great visuals, some amazing sequences and some terrific performances.
A 12-armed heavy-metal drummer of a movie, kicking and flailing through two hours of impossible. The car chase of the year. Full Review
I've watched a movie that, while fiercely entertaining, made me fear for the emotional health of my gender. You have a problem with that? Full Review
If the graphic-novel-style hyperviolence of Sin City or 300 is your thing, go ahead and knock yourself out. Or let Angelina do it for you ... It feels so much nicer that way. Full Review
Directed at a pitch of gritty giddiness by the Kazakhstan-born Timur Bekmambetov, this hard-R splatter-fest about a team of sanctified assassins is also the summer's zazziest action movie. Full Review
Ultimately, watching Wanted feels like being privy to somebody else's unwholesome fantasy, one you'd rather not know about. Full Review
Wanted is fast-moving and bloody, enjoyable even within its unapologetically generic limits. But McAvoy is its real secret weapon. Full Review
