Actually a really good film with some genuine comic and sad moments throughout.

There were some funny moments and the story/drama was pulled off well with these four main characters. I guess I don't agree with the critics on this one because I've already seen it twice and enjoyed it both times.

Patrick Swayze is my favorite actor of all times and I would watch it just because he is in it and that it looks like a good movie

Critic Reviews
I like all four of the lead actors a lot and they manage to squeeze a few laughs out of the material, but they're treading water at best in this forgettable effort. Full Review
A hillbilly romantic comedy in which the hillbillies show up but the romance and comedy never do. Full Review
Nothing in Waking Up in Reno ever inspired me to think of its inhabitants as anything more than markers in a screenplay. Full Review
Finally coming down off of Miramax's deep shelves after a couple of aborted attempts, Waking Up in Reno makes a strong case for letting sleeping dogs lie.
Oozes condescension from every pore. Full Review
A feature-length, R-rated, road-trip version of Mama's Family. Full Review
Offers big, fat, dumb laughs that may make you hate yourself for giving in. Ah, what the hell.
Four boring characters, a painfully unfunny road trip and drama that's not quite as convincing as a daytime soap opera add up to a wretched time in this redneck romantic comedy. Full Review
