I like Nicolas Cage. He's a pretty good actor. But I really like Nicolas Cage when he chooses to play a character in such an over-the-top fashion, you're not sure whether he's overacting or deliberately trying to make you laugh. Vampire's Kiss is one such movie. It takes a great ... read more

So I actually thought this was a vampire flick in the realms of 'American Werewolf' perhaps but in fact it turns out to be a physiological dark comedy about a guy who thinks hes a vampire hehe so slightly disappointed but after watching the film I did think back in a positive way... read more

This vampire movie starring Cage is hilarious. A bit confusing and strange in the middle, but overall a very funny and exciting movie.

I only watched about half of this, but if you can stomach forty-five minutes of Nicolas Cage trying to consciously give a comedic performance, you're a stronger person than I am. His attempts at self-referential camp are blindingly painful. I'm convinced at this point that the ma... read more

Realistically, this is an utterly terrible movie. However, Nicolas Cage's tour de force performance makes this a classic. It's almost like American Psycho, but with a lot less killing and more insanity. It's more or less what would really happen if someone tried to become a vampi... read more

This makes Jerry Lewis look like Alec Guiness. Nic Cage's performance is so over the top it cannot be matched for sheer cocaine fueled manic insanity. Vampire's Kiss must be seen to be believed.
An interesting foot note film for American Psycho. -

I am always surprised when I hear this movie referred to as a comedy. Even the trailer makes it look "laugh-out-loud funny". It's funny, there's no doubt about that, but funny doesn't make it a comedy. It's more tragic than anything. Cage plays Peter Loew as though he thought he ... read more

Black comedy with Cage as the yappie who thinks that he's been bitten by a vampire and is turning into on himself. As the fangs aren't coming through yet.

American Psycho with vampires is one way to describe this film, but it barely does it justice. The entire film revolves around a gobsmackingly insane performance from Cage - easily the best I've seen him, and after Face/Off I never thought I'd hear myself say that.

What really makes this worth seeing is Cage's outrageously unbridled performance. Full Review
The film is dominated and destroyed by Mr. Cage's chaotic, self-indulgent performance. Full Review
What this movie needs isn't criticism, it's more like a stake through the heart.
You're not exactly sure if the material is meant to be funny or is laughable merely by default. Full Review
100-minute-long piece of performance art masquerading as a moody, silly indie switchblade. Rarely impresses, succumbing to overwhelmingly sluggish filmmaking decisions and a permissive attitude that r... Full Review
What truly distinguishes the movie is Cage's performance, which is so off the wall that even if you don't like it you have to watch in awe. Full Review
For pure, undiluted Cage-osity, Vampire's Kiss is the film to beat. Full Review
Undeservedly dismissed by most critics, this original film, whether taken as a straight horror yarn or as a psycho-erotic nightmare, mixes elements of fable and satire in a startling manner. Full Review
