After reading the reviews and for the first five minutes of the movie, I really expected a suckfest (no pun intended!). But with the most annoying characters killed off pretty early, this actually turned out to be a really unusual and original vampire movie. I was really quite i... read morempressed with it. I don't think your typical Twilight fan is going to get into this, but for anyone who likes their vampire films a little darker, and/or an arthouse slant, this one could be the one for you

Vampire Diary is yet another mockumentary/home movie type film. Here we follow a young documentary filmmaker that stumbles upon a real vampire. They start a lesbian relationship and soon open up to each other. As you do. It's a fascinating idea, especially for a world consumed wi... read moreth the sexy Twilight. It shows the absolute curse of vampirism and the dark side it brings out. It would have worked better as a straight drama without the "documentary" gimmick. The actors really don't seem comfortable. Most lines seemed force and it's like a poorly shot version of any evening soap opera. The relationships, at least, seemed real enough to make the film enjoyable but the whole interview/diary aspect is never fully explored.

I only watched this for Keith-Lee Castle, and unfortunately his...camera time was very limited.

Cool take on the vampire genre.Holly is filming a documentry/video diary about "weekend vampires", fans of the vampire myth that go out to goth clubs at the weekends and celebrate their fascination. However, when Holly meets Vikki, who claims shes a real vampire, there's an almost ... read moreinstant chemistry and they start a passionate affair. But when Vikki reveals she's expecting a vampire baby, they have to find the blood to feed Vikki AND the baby any which way they can. This indie British horror is pretty powerful and compelling with a good performance by Anna Walton as Vikki and has a cool goth/industrial soundtrack. A decent addition to the vampire genre.

Badly done. Horrible acting, bad lighting, awful camera angles, etc. But, the idea of a vampire baby was interesting...for about 10 minutes.

I am a little twisted. I am also a fan of the macabre and of all things Vampires. I blame Kiefer Sutherland's David for starting that love affair when I was in the 7th grade. So, I will normally just pick up films about the famed blood suckers that I haven't seen.
I am ashamed t... read moreo say that I wish I had left this one on the shelf. Even with my love of Vampires, this movie was beyond terrible. The whole "This is all a documentary" was badly done. Maybe it was the bad acting, or poor English accents that gave me a headache, or the fact that the real vampire used a bolt gun to kill her victims and then drink the blood. What's up with that?! That takes the whole sexy seduction factor right out of it when they don't even rip into someone's flesh with their fangs.
OK, so you don't see vampire babies that often. But this movie was just awful. Anna Walton is very pretty, but that is about all she had going for her in this film.
Not even the baby bloodsucker OR the lesbian sex could save this impossibly bad movie from the trash bin.

Totally didn't pull off the "this is all a videotaped diary" angle.

And is blood with a twist of lemon and tabasco, lightly blended with ice ... is that a lesbian vampire thing?

I'm not going to say this is one of the best movies ever made.. but it was interesting. I was completely tuned in the whole time.. and I thought it was an interesting take on the Vampire movie.. (sort of.. not going to say anything more about that) So, while I can't say it ... read morewill blow you away with the acting.. or the effects.. the STORY stands out more than most.

The screenplay is a tad overwritten, but the acting is fine, and die-hard vampire fans will want to check it out. Full Review
