A Russian remake of 12 Angry Men, it is emotionally enthralling and heart-wrenching almost more so than the original. I felt every actor in this film presented the role of their lifetime. In America, this would have been another record setting award winner.

Excellent Russian version of "12 Angry Men", but it lacks the claustrophobic intensity of that film, which remains superior. Very well acted, good writing - the story is a fascinating one.

Full of passion and speechifying, 12 is unmistakably Russian in spirit and sensibility, but its themes are universal at their core. Full Review
The heated deliberations are a gripping analogy for Russia's turbulent mix of ethnic divisions, corruption, Western influences and idealism. Full Review
The tradition of Russian stage acting enriches this satisfying update of Reginald Rose's TV play Twelve Angry Men. Full Review
A powerful new film inspired by a powerful older one. Full Review
After weathering the characters' windbaggery for nearly three hours, it's hard not to feel like Mikhalkov's done the same to viewers of 12. Full Review
In the end the film is too much of a piece with its topic, intensely fascinating yet seriously flawed. Full Review
