Funny and charming, but not as good as the original version of Ang Lee's. But the cooking is good and will make you hungry just watching them eat their dinners.

Hector was as expected"Brillant!"...but this movie was unfortunate and a little sad in comparison to the original,"Eat, Drink, Man, Woman" which was beautiful and masterful in it's storytelling. Oh well, I did not like it.

Awesome cast. Food looked so beautiful and delicious. Good to see a movie with Latino main characters. Great movie for everyone.

A nice movie about a wonderful chef and father, living with 3 adult daughters. A nice change of pace movie for me!

I really liked this movie, the characters and relationships were interesting as well as seeing the preparation of all the Mexican Cuisine!

Same story, same plot, same characters, same everything, different ethnicity. (as "Eat, Drink, Man, Woman)

I remember one of the girls being kind of good looking. And Elizondo going all sensitive and shit. Not in a bad way.

This wasn't bad. Hector Elizondo was amazing, as always, but I just wan't feeling this one too much.
Critic Reviews
Thanks to a perfectly blended ensemble led by Hector Elizondo, in his best screen role to date, Tortilla Soup is a warm-blooded winner with equal emphasis placed on taste buds and heartstrings. Full Review
If your erotic inclinations tilt toward the table, Tortilla Soup will probably offer nothing short of hardcore pleasure. If not, but see it you must, close your eyes and think of other appetites. Full Review
The writers have swiped Lee's basic premise and main characters, while pretty much ignoring his skill and sensitivity. Full Review
A filling but unoriginal dish.
It's so brimful of life you can't say no.
With its hammy moments and unending cuteness, Tortilla Soup is comfort food where Eat Drink Man Woman was spicier and more exotic.
Its attributes and achievements are modest, but its arias, duets, and ensembles are engaging all the same.
Makes you famished for spice-rubbed whole fish and lamb with orange salsa while it amply feeds your soul.
