A film directed by Amando de Ossorio one of the many he followed up with. The tomb raiders costumes are old school, but in 1970 they must have been top of the line. Not a real scary horror by today standards. A cult who rises from the dead and worships the devil reins terror on a... read more couple and kills there friend. 3 stars

A drive-in classic. At least three different edits are circulating; the original director's cut, an "American Version" (less skin, no lesbians), and "Planet Ape" version designed to capitalize on the Planet of the Apes craze.

There are aactually several different "Blind Dead" films to enjoy, this is the first one that I saw. The actual "blind dead" creatures are kinda cool and very creepy (in an old school sort of way) the other eliments of these films are just HORRIBLE. Several minutes of woman scr... read moreeaming as the creature slowly approach...bad dubbing...I could go on. But a fun late night film none the less.

A zombie-ish tale about a sect of the Knights Templar who turn cannibal, are killed and then come back to eat some more. Great atmosphere and the Knights look fantastic but the movie is a bore.

To be honest from the get-go, my rating is based on a single viewing alongside my wife, where the two of us spent the film poking fun at the film, which colors my enjoyment of it greatly. As a zombie film this isn't going to replace Romero for you, but it does have some eerie mo... read morements of the lurking undead, as well as some strange turns that left us giggling at the plight of the hapless leads who find themselves alone in these ruins at night.

Worth a look, but know what you're getting into.

Well, this movie was a 70s franchise and I can understand why. The main zombies are a great concept. They are typical slow moving skeletons in giant black hooded robes that ride horses. The horses don?t have the same undead appearance, but that would have been a feat for this typ... read moree of budget. However, with this movie, I wonder why they made sequels. It is stiff in its story and has plenty of extraneous sex scenes and innuendo and a bizarre flashback to the origin of the blind dead. Plus, this movie has a completely unnecessary rape scene that really didn?t have any bearing other than maybe making you hate someone, but it doesn?t matter. Everyone hated or identified with can be a victim in this movie.

I wanted to watch this because I knew it was a franchise and that it had an amazing ending. Well, the entire movie in the DVD version I had was greatly underlit or transferred to dark. I guess they were counting on the bright, loud 70s clothing to help lighten. But it?s a good group of villains and the ending was surprising. Besides that, not much.

Wow... I can't believe this movie was made in 1971. The visuals in this thing are amazing and I was really impressed with the direction - it is actually a very artistic and beautiful film - those Europeans do gore with such class sometimes - particularly in the 70's. The Zombies ... read morein this film are so old they practically look like dust. Sometimes they're puppets and sometimes they're guys in suits, but they always look pretty damn authentic. Plus, zombie knights on horse back, is there any thing more beautiful than that?

A pretty simple and mildly charming. Great Makeup/Costumes. Mostly predictable until..... THE END!!! RECOMMENDED!!!!

The plot was average, but the zombies were awesome. It's one of those movies where it's highly entertaining, but you just can't give it a really high rating because it was a bad movie.

Wow. I should read the reviews to see what I missed. Was I perhaps not hip enough to understand four stars? If the people who made this were friends of mine, I might have more for a taste for this film. It gets one star for kitsch, though I don't really get why this one as op... read moreposed to any other kitschy flick of the badly done horror era. Maybe I would take a stab at it again, had I not sold this movie to Rasputins for a pack of smokes.

While nearly all of the Italian zombie films were one shade of awful or another, Tombs is a good film, even a great one: one of the highlights of 1970s Spanish cinema and among the very best examples ... Full Review
