When Mike and Sheryl head out for a weekend of camping in Lake Kumbrabow State Park, a peaceful excursion gives way to sheer terror as Sheryl is brutally abducted by a murderous cult in search of a ne... read more read more...wborn child. Later, as Mike wanders the woods in search of his missing mate, a mysterious, God-fearing woman offers her hand in help. Little does Mike realize that the outwardly benevolent soul is in fact the very person he should fear most, and by the time he sees Sheryl bound to a table in a dank cabin cellar, it may already be too late for both of them. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

When I saw it I said it would get 3 stars. But I just don't see the point....cause it wasn't good...you could watch it without getting pissed off....but it wasn't good. And that's what matters....not wrestling...And come on...we could hear the waterfall was fake...

Actually nothing special in this Movie, but entertaining.

Well, I didn't see THAT coming.

Another very average horror set off the beaten track. A couple of familiar faces in the cast and it is quite gory in parts. However it feels like it's trying to ride the coat tails of Wrong Turn, The hills have eyes franchises. One for horror fans who don't mind a cheesey horror.... read more You might like Eden Lake instead.

It's not bad considering its genre (check my "Went Down the Wrong Road" Backwoods Horror List), but the last shot gives an auto deduction of half a star (the killer is still alive! and traveled to the victims' home town - it's not even laughable satire, just PATHETIC).

Anyways, ... read morethe rest of the movie is decent. There are a mix of crap and good special effects, and most of it appears to be practical (well done there). The actors give their all, and I like the idea that these captors want their victims to have a baby for them. The set design of the torture basement is tops, and the pacing is decent. Action segments are well filmed. The primary weapon is really cool, but I don't really like Deacon's (main baddie) makeup job; it could have been tweaked a little better.

The plot structure is fine, but some of the dialogue is really weak in conveying the perversion of religion to violent means and portraying the stereotypical secular response to this violent fervor. Okay if you like this niche genre of horror.

This twisted, bloody and sadistic story is like Friday the 13th, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Wrong Turn and Deliverance. Quite bit shock and scary with amounts of blood, torture, sex, deformities, skinny dipping and the requisite dose of paranoia. Bu... read moret the plot is average.
Actress Brianna Brown, as toned, wavy haired blonde victim Sheryl is good. She screams and moans a lot. The cinematography is strong, and the mountain setting in West Virginia beautiful.

I was torn on rating this movie.
Should I give it one or less stars as a horror movie or high marks as a comedy? I'm still not sure as there were some parts that actually had me laughing out loud.
I'm not one to give a plot away, but let's call this "Deliverance" meets Plann... read moreed Parenthood and throw in the religious right nutbags that frequently picket outside as well.
Our protagonists defy all warnings, verbal and inferred, and come into some twisted and obvious circumstances.
Our male protagonist has way too much testosterone as he spits in the face of his torturers every chance he gets serving up a grand plate of bravado that is so unbelievable...
The lapses in judgment, the obvious traps, the plot twists that really are not twists at all and the cheesy dialogue...
Like I said, this might make it into my cheese book as good comedy with a nice side or gore, but horror?-it doesn't come close.

Ok film.Have been done before loads of times, But the actors do a good job.
And the suspence are well done.
    A littlle gem.

The bad version of "Eden Lake." Seriously, they copied a little too much off that movie and it's pretty clear. The only difference is that the male tries to find the female...which is done in way too much movies.

Well with like many horror movies this one starts simple enough couple decides to take a trip into the woods to see the scenery and enjoy some private time alone they come across a sheriff and one weird person but nothing to be worried about right? well wrong of course sooner or ... read morelater some crazy locals pop up and kidnap the couple and make there wonderful camping vacation into a trip from hell. this movie wasnt bad for me just its been done before so many times recently you almost know whats gonna happen an how everyone is gonna play there parts i would still find myself recommending it though if your into backwoods type movies such as wrong turn, texas chainsaw etc

This lost-in-the-woods thriller actually holds our interest thanks to good performances from the central duo. Everything else in this film is completely bonkers. Full Review

Although clearly derivative, the film works hard to assemble its familiar pieces into something that works in its own right. Full Review

Giglio doesn't quite seem able to decide what his tone is, incongruously mixing goofy redneck humor with harrowing scenes of intense pain, but horror fans should dig it nonetheless Full Review

Earns a few points for sheer silliness once Act III rolls around, but you'll have to muddle through a whole lot of familiar tedium to get there. Nice scenery, though. Full Review
