Gene Wilder's remake of this 1976 French comedy is a Hollywood version of what happens when Theodore (Wilder), an ordinary ad agency executive, is captivated by a gorgeous woman (Kelly Le Brock). The ... read more read more...woman just happens to be standing on a grate when her skirt blows up over her waist (a scene first made famous by Marilyn Monroe in The Seven-Year Itch), and one glimpse is enough to change Theodore's whole life. Although he is married, he is willing to risk his happy relationship with his wife for a romp in the hay with the beautiful stranger. Unfortunately, even when he tracks down the object of his lust he is woefully inept at sneaking out on his wife to consummate his desire. Three of his male office mates help him as much as they can, but Ms. Milner (Gilda Radner) is really incensed when she finds out that the object of Theodore's attention is not herself. Stevie Wonder's score included his hit song "I Just Called to Say I Love You", which received an Oscar nomination. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Interesting dramedy. Great acting by Charles Grodin.

Gene Wilder directs himself in this "comedy" about marriage. He does a pretty good job, but for the most part it isn't all that funny. Overall, it's okay.
  • September 23, 2009
Gene Wilder & Charles Grodin are brilliant in this very funny 80's classic. You can see Kelly LeBrock's naughty bits too!
  • May 31, 2007
Tacky 80s farce in which middle aged exec Gene Wilder suffers a mid life crisis and sets off in pursuit of a model. Sleazy and desperately unfunny.
  • December 5, 2009
Gene Wilder plays a married man who contemplates having a fling with sexy Kelly LeBrock. He has an attractive wife, adorable kids but his obsession is just too strong to resist. Gilda Radner appears in a brief but very funny role as a Plain Jane who thinks Wilder has fallen for h... read moreer and then plots revenge when she realizes she's wrong.Homosexual ever-reliable friend Charles Grodin steals the show with his crazy antics as the one of Wilder's unsavory pals. Stevie Wonder's smashing "I Just Called to Say I Love You", the 1984 Best Original Song Oscar winner is better than the film itself which is written and directed by Gene Wilder.

One of the few "romantic comedies" I love. Wilder is hysterical in this one, especially his scenes with Gilda Radner. The "Ooooh, my heart. Ouch" heart attack scene and the stalling tactics used to think up excuses are some of the best comedic acting I've ever seen. Wilder R... read moreocks!

I really liked this Movie. Kelly La Brock is such a interesting actress. The Men in Gene Wilder group make such Hilarious. This is every Man's Fantasy. Good film to Laugh at.

This would be much more appreciated by fans of Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner. I like both of them, but would not call myself a fan of their type of humor. This is an enjoyable film however. Often times very funny. One of Wilder's better efforts.

Chuck O'Leary, Fantastica Daily

An amusing comedy about male lust and infatuation. As usual, Wilder is perfect as the nervous everyman.

Nothing fresh or funny to add to the overworked theme of the male mid-life crisis.
