The Woman in Black Reviews and Ratings

Really freaking creepy, as in edge-of-your-seat, clutch-the-armrest, jump-every-five-seconds creepy. The story felt legit, the acting was great (gotta love Daniel Radcliffe), the special effects were genuinely chilling, and the ending wasn't ultra cheesy or disappointing. The mov... read moreie only had one big flaw, but it would be a spoiler to point it out (you'll know it when you see it). For a spook movie, I'd still call it a success.

1 - 2 scenes made me silently scream. :) ... and the vintage ambiance was very nice.

La Dame en Noir : un faux-air de Sleepy Hollow, une bonne dose d'Hantise et un soupçon de l'Orphelinat ; oppressant à souhait, mais au final un peu trop convenu.

I watched the original "The Woman in Black" from 1989 before I watched the new one. Must say I liked both, but the new one had a much better story and special affects and developed the characters more.

One of the best paranormal movies I've seen in a while.

Keeps you on edge. The beginning was the best intro I have ever seen in this genre....the ending, not so much. Great plot and the Direction (James Watkins) was brilliant. Radcliffe was great. Still not used to seeing him as anything but Harry Potter, but he will transition. ... read moreGreat actor.

It took almost an hour for the (simple) plot to get going, and although there were a few good jump scares, the movie was pretty predictable and somewhat draggy. I couldn't figure out whether the ending was supposed to be a punishment or a reward for the main character.
