Filmmaker Joshua Dugdale spent three years filming the Dalai Lama as he's worked both publicly and privately to pressure China into leaving Tibet and granting the small nation its autonomy, and The Unwinking Gaze is a documentary which explores the Dalai Lama's role in Tibet's struggle for independence and both the political and spiritual sides of his battle with the Chinese government.
