While it is garbage in terms of the animation and the humor, it makes up for its good blend of animation and live action and I will admit the humor did suck but it did get a couple chuckles out of me. Also the voice acting isn't half bad either and each of the actors do decent jo... read more

Why did I watch this movie? "Smurfity-smurf-smurf-smurf".... Wow, the word smurf was probably used about 200 times. The smurfs themselves? FREAKIN annoyin. Who would like these blue things? Character development? None? The villain? Equivalent in terms of cheesiness, acting, and g... read more

Cute movie about the a group of Smurfs who end up in New York, looking for a way home. Similar to Enchanted.

Smurf happens
A good movie with some nice special effects and great animation, on the other hand it was a little boring at times and the story wasn't that interesting. It was a nice try but could have been way better,
When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs ou... read more -

Just average to me. I liked the animation and the movie for the most part, but Neil Patrick Harris annoys the heck out of me, and there are some Smurfy characters I would have liked to have seen, or seen more of. The "Smurf droppings" line was memorable though, heh.

What a smurfin' terrible movie. This big screen debut for the little blue commune dwellers is a painful experience, magically transporting the little creatures to New York City. They find themselves in the care of Patrick (Neill Patrick Harris), an ad man who's pretty much a jerk... read more

The Smurfs........... first Scooby Doo, then Alvin and the Chipmunks, then Yogi Bear, and now they have made a CGI Live Action film of The Smurfs, and it stinks just as much as the others. In the beginning of the film, Narrator Smurf tells the audience about the Blue Moon Festiv... read more

Once again Hollywood decides to extinguish anything creative about a franchise, and simply set it in our world. The Smurfs have a rich history, but here they are just fish out of water in New York. Yes, you have seen this film before. What's most annoying is that it starts promis... read more

The Smurfs ends up being just below average, it won't give you nightmares, and small ones might dig it. Full Review
That two sequels have been announced is terrifying. Full Review
It's raw and mean-spirited, with too many of the Smurf word substitutions more naughty than nice ("Who Smurfed?" or "Where the Smurf are we?"). That's Smurfed up. Full Review
The Smurfs mostly takes place in a grown-up world of cosmetics advertising and expectant parents. Without a child character to interpret and join the action, it's a pretty dull way to introduce young ... Full Review
Director Raja Gosnell also made "Scooby-Doo" and "Beverly Hills Chihuahua." At least for families, this is a bit smurfing better than those. Full Review
I wouldn't smurf Gosnell's 'The Smurfs' on my smurfiest enemy. Full Review
Kids are sure to find it smurf-errific, smurf-ilicious or just plain smurfy. Adults will happily settle for smurf-ectly inoffensive. Full Review
[A] relentlessly witless and cynical children's movie packed with potty jokes, product plugs and double-entendres along the lines of "What the Smurf?" Full Review
On a hot summer day, "The Smurfs" is a decent enough excuse to haul the little ones into an air-conditioned theater. Full Review
