What Director Frank Oz has put together here are three generations of outstanding Talent.
A sophisticated Heist movie, character driven, with an exciting build up to the Criminal Mastermind Operation. Exciting, tense at times and genius work with the use of the character ?B... read more -

It's not the best film ever made but I quite liked it! Norton and Bassett are really good, DeNiro's been better and Brando is vile. Directed by Miss Piggy ;o)

"Nice working with you, ace. Okay, bye-bye."
Always loved heist movies but the biggest problem in the genre is that the films tend to be predictable. "The Score" has the same problem but it also features some nice twists.
The strongest thing is the acting. The film features thr... read more -

It snaps and crackels with style, suspense and excitment. A smart, tense and adreniline-pumping edge of your seat thriller. Robert De Niro and Edward Norton are dynamite. These two actors deliver pure gold to this bold and tension-loaded heist film. Superb, teriffic, brilliant, e... read more

This old-style caper thriller is good that gets its juice from strong characterisations and intricate plotting rather than dumb twists and mindless explosions.

October 20, 2007fb619846742A very good thriller. Norton plays a duel role very well (as a retard and a robber) and De Niro is just classic De Niro. I called the twist at the end, but it doesn't mean its still not a good one.

Hardly a great film but this is about as close as De Niro tends to get to a project worthy of his talent these days. Good performances all round; competent direction by Yoda. Unfortunately, the final twist can be seen coming a mile away.
Critic Reviews
Restoring the seductive style of the no-nonsense procedural heist movie to complete luster, this is the kind of pic that knows the difference between being masculine and being macho. Full Review
Contains The Scene, a precious sequence already destined for infinite repetition. Full Review
A sturdily diverting old fashioned heist thriller. Full Review
A movie which gets the job done as simply, efficiently and intelligently as possible. Full Review
A droning, high-toned little heist picture with no dash and no raison d'être. Full Review
The movie is so determinedly low-key that after a while it sits on the screen like a layout from Architectural Digest. Even the actors seem dimmed. Full Review
Spends so much time establishing a shadowy, jazzy neo-noir tone that the details of the heist are slighted and much of the excitement drains away.
