Her best friend since childhood is a privileged white girl whose wealthy father employs Tiana's mother as a dressmaker. When the friend's family hosts a party for Prince Naveen of Maldonia, Dr. Facilier, an expert in black magic, turns the visiting royal into a frog. The now amphibious Naveen convinces Tiana that a kiss will reverse the spell, and if she obliges him he'll provide the money she needs to open her dream eatery. However, their smooch not only fails to turn him back into a human, but transforms Tiana into a frog as well. The duo then sets out to find a voodoo priestess who can set everything right. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

Cute throwback to Disney movies of the past. I love jazz and the New Orleans setting and this was a great little film. Looked awesome on blu ray and had solid voice acting across the board.

I still don't understand why she fell for the prince, he was kind of a doucheface. Tiana kicked butt, she didn't need him. This movie made me want to go to Nawlins even more!

This movie is without a doubt one of my favourites even if it is a relatively new one. I prefer 2D animation to 3D and have always thought that Disney did it better when they did it old school. Aside from the throw back to the old animantion style, it was genuinely refreshing to ... read moresee the heroine of the story (who stereotypically did become a princess at the end, as we all expected) was a well rounded, hard working woman with the independence and drive to actually do something rather than sleep all day in a tower waiting for her happily ever after to come looking for her. I loved all the characters, as well as the music and setting. A very close to perfect film for me.

Princess Tiana: Daddy never got what he wanted... but he had what he NEEDED: love! He never gave that up, and neither will I!

The Princess and the Frog is a magnificent and ambitious animation from Walt Disney. I find that a lot of animated family movies almost beg you to like ... read morethem. This one just had me loving it from the start. There was a whole lot going on, but it wasn't a mess. It was just a well executed fairytale. Everyone knows the story of the princess and the frog, even the characters in this movie. They listened to their parents read it to them when they were little kids. Now they are living it.

The movie has a really cool setting in New Orleans at the start of the 20th century. The film has voodoo as a central building block for the entire plot. The villain, Shadowman, is perfect. From the way he talks, to the way he looks; that character is flawless. It also has the annoying character, every animated movie seems to need in the spoiled rich girl who dreams of being a princess.

The main character, Tiana, is extremely easy to like. She is a hard working, young woman, who just wants to see her dead fathers dream of having his own restaurant come true. All she does is work and save in order to get her own restaurant. She learns some valuable lessons in the movie, though, that show her that her father wouldn't want her to work her whole life away.

The Princess and the Frog is on a very short list of great animated films of the 21st century that I have seen. So far, it's Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Ponyo and this. It's a perfect family film because it's going to keep kids entertained for the duration, but it's also not torture for the adults either. Actually, it's quite a fun little movie too watch from time to time.

    One word: Charlotte.

I'm all for the revitalization of 2D animation, but in no way is this the movie to go about promoting it. This is such a bad adaption of the story and runs a fine line between blatantly racist and playful stereotypes. I mean I love cute little frogs, but it was not enough to make... read more me enjoy the movie. The best thing about it was the visuals and maybe Keith David's voodoo witch doctor character. There was too much singing ( the songs weren't even good) and not enough of what makes Disney movies genuinely good.

Sure to become a Disney classic. I was happy to see them go back to hand-drawn animation. Such a great story, it was just a little sad that little bug fell in love with the moon.

Princess and the Frog was a relief, a relief from all the crappy hand drawn movies these days. The plot was enjoyable and funny in my opinion. The voice acting was tremendous. But the true gem was the music, it was the best part, I always sing the songs, seriously, I think its... read more hard to hate this great movie.

This film feels like a classic Disney film in every way, but incorporates a new southern twist to an old tale. The animation is really enjoyable and keeps to it's traditional style and although the story line is predictable, it's what you expect from a Disney film; a happily ever... read more after.

Depending on how big of a Disney buff you are, this is one you will immediately fall in love with after you first see it. "The Princess and the Frog" is a fairytale film set in New Orleans during the Jazz Age. Tiana is a waitress who never has any time for fun and adventure. She ... read morethen comes across a frog, who is really a prince. He believes in the big cliche that if you kiss a frog, he will turn back into a human. After Tiana kisses him, she dosen't break the spell and turns into a frog herself. The two frogs then wind up in the Louisiana Bayous where they embark on a musical journey.

Disney is notably known for putting a twist on the fairytale and not sticking to the way it usually goes. The way they twist the classic "Frog Prince" story is remarkable. Who knew the story would work well if the film was set in Jazz Age, not medievel times? Oh, thats right! DISNEY! The plot and script is very smart. Many good jokes in this one.

The music is phenomenal. They songs are wonderfully written and composed by Randy Newman of "Toy Story" fame. If you don't hum the songs or at least get one of them stuck in your head, you have issues!

The animation is some of the most colorful and extravagant I had ever seen in an animated film. Very detailed and breathtaking. The animation even made the trippy voodoo sequences seem spooky. The character design is great! The characters are oh so memorable and lovable!

This is such a wonderful and beautiful animated movie! I want to see Disney make more 2D-animated musicals from now on instead of dumb CGI ones. However, I am still pissed off that this movie wasn't as successful as Disney hoped. The family audience flocked to the filmhouse to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks 2" instead of this. SHAMEFUL! Lets look back at the bright side. I love this film! Love it, love it, love it! Check it out if you haven't! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
