Everyone's favorite produce pals set out to seek their fortune on the open seas in this animated adventure from the folks who brought viewers Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie. Elliot, Sedgewick, and George ... read more read more...(Larry the Cucumber, Mr. Lunt, and Pa Grape) are all busboys at the Pieces of Ate Dinner Theater, and all long for the day when they can cease cleaning tables and step into the spotlight. If Elliot could overcome his timidity, Sedgewick could muster some motivation, and George could only boost of self-confidence a bit, perhaps their dreams of starring in the big pirate show could finally come true. When a mysterious artifact known as the "Helpseeker" falls from the sky searching for three heroes to embark on a treacherous quest back to the 17th century, Elliot, Sedgewick, and George must choose between traveling back in time to rescue a royal family from a dangerous despot or spending the rest of their lives lazily lounging around on the couch. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

good fun for childeren, but lets be honest, the only thing keeping people watching is the pirates and THE GIANT FREAKING ROBOT DRAGON

It's "Galaxy Quest," but with salad. More than a little surreal, and slightly snarky.

good stuff... very funny... very well done, great story, lots of funny moments, good morals and character...

A great animated family movie that is well worth a look for any and everybody from little children to adults.

Crazy its what gets its humor but it is so adorable and touching that it is too much too resist. Its animation is so low budget it gives it an extra charm.

When did Veggie Tales become boring? This was the dullest pirate movie I've ever seen. They didn't DO anything. They should be called The.... oh wait... Seriously. It was boring.

I can't look at Cheetos the same because of this film. It was funny enough to keep me watching this time.

Cute - I love Veggie Tales...and the lessons they teach are applicable to anyone, not just kids. And there are a lot of fun extras on the dvd.

This was okay, but most of the other videos and JONAH (the other feature length film?) was a LOT better and funnier. This one seemed to try to bunch too many morals into one story without enough laughs to even it all out.
Animation was alright, after all you don't need everythi... read moreng to look too realistic for a veggietales movie anyway.
Voices are decent and thankfully don't all sound the same when one person does multiple characters, so they have talent at least.
It would have been better as one of the half hour episodes, but I'm sure most little kids will be entertained by the talking vegetables anyway so they'll like it anyhow.
Evenone else over the age of 8 will get bored with this movie pretty fast.

"What kind of crazy B movie am I in anyway?"

This is no savvy Toy Story. It's a boilerplate plot like one you might find in any morning cartoon. Full Review

Aside from the fun musical scenes, the script is pretty lackluster, and the animation could generously be described as old-fashioned. Full Review

A gentle adventure-comedy that sails a heroes' journey so straight and true that Joseph Campbell would smile. Full Review

Pirates scores with adventure, humor and a morality tale rather than a standard biblical message.

The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything has just enough unassuming cleverness to keep you from checking your watch while the little people in your company get wrapped up in the color and clamor. Full Review

The film offers plenty of kid-level humor (as well as a few references adults will pick up on), a decent story and, as you might guess, a positive message. Full Review
