Early technology thriller. Good actors but disappointing plot. A bit of a turkey for Sandra.

A very good thriller, ahead of it's time with a cyber conspiracy theory. A bit tame compared to more recent films with a similar plot. However it's still an enjoyable thriller if not too dramatic and Sandra Bullock looks great as always. Seems there was a straight to DVD sequel a... read more

It's cool to watch now because all the stuff Angela does, (mainly at the beginning), is commonplace nowadays....
This one is alot of fun, and still holds up as a good edge-of-your seat thriller/chase movie....Can't believe it's 14 years old! -

Sandra Bullock is fantastic as The Fugitive female version who's caught in the Net - targeted by a mysterious organisation who will stop at nothing to protect its deadly secret.

Movie's OK. Keeps your interest while you figure out how Sandra Bullock will get out of the mess she finds herself in. For a movie made over ten years ago, not much has changed in computer technology.
Critic Reviews
Riddled with more coincidences and implausibilities than Hitchcock permitted himself in his entire career, The Net still gets by as a reasonably suspenseful, very au courant thriller. Full Review
The Net is never quite as sleek and chilling as it might have been, but it gives the old story of a wrongly accused innocent a nerve-wracking 90's twist. Full Review
A strong enough suspense thriller, a high-tech version of one of those spiraling nightmares in which an innocent person is chased by assassins and wanted by the police. Full Review
The story is standard issue pepped up with a sampling of smart computer talk to give the impression the characters know what they're talking about. Full Review
Unfortunately, in movie theaters, as of now, there are no DELETE buttons. Full Review
This stuff is so concocted I had no business caring about it. But I did, because of Bullock. Full Review
Reminiscent of a slew of films, including The Pelican Brief and The Fugitive, The Net -- ploddingly directed by Irwin Winkler -- is frustratingly average in almost every other respect.
Borrowing heavily from Alfred Hitchcock and John Grisham, director Irwin Winkler reduces a potentially-fascinating premise to the spearhead of a routine thriller. Full Review
As an actress, Bullock has it all -- heart and soul, and mind, too. Full Review
