Robert Patrick co-stars as the villainous Rome -- who is more than willing to kill if it means staying one step ahead of the law -- and Nip/Tuck star Kelly Carlson appears as the endangered object of the vengeful veteran's affections. With nothing left to lose and enough training to take down a small army, the hard-fighting Triton sets out to rescue his wife, and ensure that the psychotic Rome receives a painful taste of Semper Fi justice. Commercial veteran John Bonito takes the rein for his feature directorial debut. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This was cool! But nothing more, and the action is pretty awesome!

Why the hell did I watch this film, why? Its sooooo bad you have to see it to believe it. Robert Patrick what are you doing? I think this is the worst film ever made! I didn?t realise it was a WWF production. Doh!

its a prety good movie and john cena proved to be a pretty good actor but its an entertaining action packed movie though cenas character did remind me of halloweens killer where he is practicular indestructable which makes it unbelievable and annoying

Not too bad, pretty decent movie.

This is just useless action, violence, stupid catchphrases and bad-effect-explotions. Who are they trying to reach out to with this crap? And the car chase is gotta be the most stupid thing I've ever seen. Robert Patrick was good offcourse...but whata fuck?...We all knew that Cen... read morea sucked...but now...he officialy blows. It just looks like a parody of action

Big action with huge explosions is what this movie is all about. Maybe a little unreal and over the edge for my opinion. The cast isn't bad John Cena performance is exactly what he know to do kicking and fighting all the time, Kelly Carlson looking hot and Robert Patrick with av... read moreery unusual villain. My conclusion, watch it if you like big explosions and non-stop action with very little acting.

"Is this what you do all day? I had a GameBoy... they took it"

What to say about this? That's a problem. If WWE is the company behind this film, be prepared for bad acting and a lousy script. The soundtrack reminded me at times of a 70's porn movie (not that I've seen one..), so... read more no help here either.

The whole script is an embarrasement. Hey, I'm not a screenwriter but are these guys? Not so sure. Have fun! ...or don't.

"We should have gone to the beach" That is absolutely true...

General formula of any action fugitive movie with some stars acting. Good for 20 year olds.

All I asked out of this film was for an average 2 and a half stars. Unfortunately, the WWE shows me how another one of their films just falls flat.

The story for this film is as thin as a piece of paper. The first 30 minutes are used totally for character development. In oth

... read moreer words, it goes nowhere. Literally. That thin piece of paper, I mentioned earlier, only begins to come into play after this long failure of character development, and from then on out the film takes a turn from going nowhere to going nowhere even faster. The setting is bland and horrible and the dialogue is just ridiculous at times. Corny and full of racial slurs. Not to mention, there are a couple of useless characters in the middle.

The acting, as expected, is horrible. John Cena should just stick to wrestling. Even with popular names like Kelly Carlson and Robert Patrick the acting is still poor. I do think Robert Patrick is a good actor, but his character in this film is just plain crap. Why even consider doing this movie Robert?

The only decent thing about this film is the amount of action. These scenes are filled with potential, but what happens? The bad editing just takes that potential and throws it all away. At least you don't have John Cena performing wrestling moves left and right. If you like action in a movie and NOTHING else, then this may float your boat.

Take it from me, a wrestling fan, and stay away from this film, unless you are a die hard fan of John Cena. Just remember, the 90 minutes you spend watching this film will never come back to you.

It's not a good film by any practical standard, but The Marine is bad in just the right way, a mindless throwaway that's at least smart enough not to take itself too seriously. Full Review

The Marine will trigger a strong sense of deja vu for anyone who recalls the slapdash, slam-bang action fare that was standard-issue drive-in fodder during the 1970s. Full Review

An unrepentant B-movie, The Marine features the sort of bare-bones plot that would in previous years have served as a vehicle for the likes of Charles Bronson.

It's a shame that The Marine did not receive a theatrical release in Australia. Not only was much of it shot here, but as an action popcorn adventure, it has reasonable merit. Full Review
