The rare case of an animated childhood classic that looks and feels dated now but still oozes of the feeling you had when you watched it for the first time. Especially America's original songs give the story of the last unicorn facing its biggest threat a very unique atmosphere, ... read more

The Last Unicorn is possibly the best of the Rankin/Bass animated features. It holds up surprisingly well and carries more warmth and weight than most of its counterparts. The superb voice cast is only the tip of the iceberg. There's a great little story here based on a great lit... read more

An impressive voice cast with a touching story, although a bit dated now visually. Will mainly appeal to a very young audience.

An interesting story about a unicorn, I didn't get to see the end, though, so I want to see the rest sometime. So far, I thought it was okay.

I remember this film upsetting me terribly when I was little. Need to rewatch it at some point to give an 'adult' rating.

Great fantasy story with a Unicorn as the main character. It's a distinct style of animation, but a beautiful film to watch.

The film has deeper themes than its title sugests, such as mortality and existential self-doubt, and it's in part lovely to look at (even though the mouths never even attempt to match the dialogue), but it is never truly exciting or completely engaging.

Nearly everyone who waxes rhapsodic over The Last Unicorn starts off noting how they 'grew up' on the film. Full Review
Some horrific moments (the mark of the best fairytales) and some sublimely witty lines. Full Review
Weighted with moments of surprising power yet undone by crazed-crank nickelodeon pacing. Full Review
The Last Unicorn is sure to be a rare treat for lovers of fantasy. Full Review
Greatly underrated animated film; worth seeing
Rankin-Bass has a flair for stories like this, though the horrid songs almost undo it all.
The standard 'quest' material that most fantasy is made of, but in this case heroics and spectacle are secondary to drama
