the animation was just as good as the other sequels and it has one of the most creative plots ive ever seen in an animated film

Apparently there's only so much you can do with 5 dinosaur kids before you introduce aliens. That's right, a couple of the dinosaurs turn out to be aliens. That's the level of spastic that this film reaches. It's a shame since they managed to create a complex character in Petrie'... read mores uncle. Well, as complex as these films are likely to get. The twins from the last film have disappeared, I don't know why nor do I care. At least I'm over halfway now.

I don't understand why they needed anymore of these films, they just got completely cheesy. Was an okay storyline, but a letdown with character picking.

When it comes to Charles Grosvenor, he's an inconsistent director. Once Upon A Forest was okay thanks to the music score/songs from James Horner, the voice acting and Michael Crawford's performance, but suffered from a predictable storyline, bland animation, and a dark tone while... read more Babes in Toyland was forgettable. After he made his first debut in The Land Before Time 5: The Mysterious Island, he continued on to direct the rest of the Land Before Time sequels.

Let's just say the only sequels that I liked the most were "The Time of the Great Giving", "The Secret of Saurus Rock", and "The Great Longneck Migration" while the rest of the sequels were mediocre in my opinion and this movie "The Land Before Time VII: The Stone of Cold Fire" is no exception with some good points and bad points to go along with it.

What I like about the movie was the story. It was a nice concept and it was developed quite well. It started off with Littlefoot seeing a blue meteorite crashing into Threehorn Peak. When he tells the grownups about this and they don't believe him, two rainbowfaces show up, telling him that it's a stone of cold fire. I will admit, I seem to like these characters. I liked the way they helped Littlefoot and his friends to get to the stone of cold fire which makes them very developed characters.

If there's one word I have to say about the animation, I'd say inconsistent. It had colorful backgrounds and the editing was alright. Some of the characters were kind of cute, but at most times, they're just bland.

The music in this movie seems to be mixed. The Michael Travis score was decent, but it's not successful in its songs. Good inside was pretty pleasant, but Beyond The Mysterious Beyond and Very Important Creature were forgettable despite its inspired lyrics.

The dialogue has some good moments. Littlefoot, his friends, and the grownups characters were okay, but the only characters that I like the best were the new ones here. The rainbowfaces were surprisingly good. Their singing was annoying at that time, but that doesn't mean they're not tolerable whether you like them or not. Pterano was amazing even he got a little creepier when I first saw him. Despite him being cold-hearted, he has a heart of gold and learns near the end of the movie that everyone makes mistakes. Pterano's henchmen Rinkus and Sierra, in my opinion, are the best villians in this movie. Although remotely stupid, Rinkus turns out to be very convincing while Sierra is dark and very threatening.

The voice acting is a lot of pleasure. Thomas Dekker did alright as Littlefoot, but Michael York is considered to be one of the greatest performances when voicing Pterano, and Jim Cummings and Rob Paulsen have done a great job as Sierra and Rinkus. The rest of the actors were okay, but nothing special.

To conclude this, The Stone of Cold Fire isn't a good movie, but I can't say that it's horrible. It had a great story and well-developed characters, but with better music and better animation, it could have been better.

One night Littlefoot sees a mysterious blue stone of cold fire land in the Mysterious Beyond. When Petrie's shady uncle Pterano hears of it, he only wants the stone for himself, hoping it will give him magic powers. Littlefoot and his friends must go after Pterano and stop him.
