While this baffles scientists and makes parenting difficult, Pat captures the hearts of the American people. An evil political group who plots world domination kidnaps Pat and performs experiments on her to learn the secret of how to shrink everyone. This comic adaptation of Richard Matheson's classic science-fiction novel (The Shrinking Man) is not a bad movie.

It was cute and silly. Most of it was dumb. But it was so dumb that it was funny.

Up until now I havent watched this movie since I was in elementary school & It use to be 1 of my favorites.I guess I liked it so much because I thought it was just about a woman who shrinks but now I get the real meaning behind the movie.I would like it to watch it on DVD someday... read more so I can watch it with commentary or a behind the scenes look on how they made her look so small while everything was so HUGE but I don't like the movie enough to go out & buy it.The only thing I HATED about TISW was the ending.I don't think the movie needed it & It felt stupid

I saw this movie as a kid and thought it was such a riot. I always intrigued with the fantasy of "little people" (like the size of a dollhouse doll or a barbie). And I used to imagine what it would like to be the size of a dollhouse doll and what it would be like to live in a d... read moreollhouse. Haha.

I liked this movie sooooo much because it made me realize that I could potentially live in my Barbie Dream House! How cool would that be!!!!

More memories of watching HBO as a child. This film is fun even though the cheese factor is high. I wish they had it on DVD so I could own it but it seems to have not been released yet to DVD.

Not sure why anyone ever thought Lily Tomlin was funny. All she ever does is just run around and have a spaz attack.

Oh wow...what a blast from the past. I remember seeing this movie when I was a little kid and desperately wishing I could shrink too so I could wear my barbie clothes like Lily Tomlin's character did.

Galaxy Glue, Galaxy Glue. What would we do without Galaxy Glue? Galaxy Glue, Galaxy Glue, LIfe would go to pieces without Galaxy Glue.......It's for you! Love this movie. I can't believe I still remember that jingle! Even if you don't like it, your (small) kids will.

A great 1981 classic comedy film, starring Lily Tomlin as a woman who gets infected by chemicals that cause here to shrink and does get famous in the process. An entertaining film with great laughs.

What's really incredible is how far this film goes to avoid the ideas, feminist and otherwise, embedded in its premise. Full Review
