An excellent and heartfelt comedy filled with big laughs and riventing character drama. A gem of a film from Director, Edward Burns. It`s smart, fresh, winning and real. A great film bout love, freindship, and new beginings. The all-star cast gives some of the best acting of thei... read more

"There's a difference between getting older and growing up."
The Groomsmen was a pretty nice little surprise. It worked pretty well as a comedy. The drama is a little off, but not to bad that it ruins the movie as a whole. Edward Burns writes, directs and stars in this film. I'm... read more -

I didn't see the movie while it's still in the theaters because my friends said that it was a waste of time, money, and everything. So, i took their advice and just watched other movies that was aired on the cinemas that month.
Then the other day, I saw the Groomsmen on DVD, and... read more -

Alot of people dont like this movie because the theme is so simple - but I differ, because it's reality. Events that happen to everyday men, in the everyday world, not just hollywood!
The movie and actors were both great. -
February 9, 2012fb677587177This is better than I expected, but I don't know that it's a really big standout. There's some great acting from most of the cast, John Leguizamo in particular. But the plot drags a bit and isn't all that memorable. This isn't terrible by any means, but it's not a huge standout e... read more

Dry humor-had some good moments. Very much worth watching John Leguizamo sing "My Kinda Lover" (Billy Squire) during the ending credits.

I wasnt to impressed with this movie. It was kind of borning. There 4 friends who seem to each have a problem. Gay, fear of commintment, a bum, and cant have kids. There seems to maybe be a point but its just a long slow movie that doesnt really matter. Cant say I will watch again.

I think every man should see this film. For the girls, I think this film will help you understand men a little bit more. A very good film.

This had a pretty good cast, but the story didn't really go anywhere. The characters were not interesting enough to care about them. Some of the storyline was predictable. I didn't hate it, but it won't be a favorite.

Good direction of a talented cast, but I never really cared all that much for the characters. Some good dialogue amongst the characters but really not much substance there.

Traffics in such familiar territory as sibling rivalries, generational estrangements and broken dreams. But it slowly, sometimes too slowly, connects with the viewer. Full Review
The Groomsmen may be low-cal Cassavetes or Secrets and Lies for mooks, but Burns knows his turf. The marvel is that after seven films he's still finding fresh grass. Full Review
In a film of minor ambition, [the characters are] all worthy company. Full Review
The problem is that Burns -- who insists on writing all his own material -- isn't a very good writer. Full Review
Instead of whimsy there's nastiness, and instead of promising newcomers there's a cluster of formerly hot actors gone cold.
The Groomsmen captures a single, specific moment, when responsibilities await but adulthood is still unwelcome. If their predicament strikes a chord, you may want to join Burns' boys for their final h... Full Review

The movie snaps sharply to life every now and then, and its unfashionable decency really gets to you. Full Review
The Groomsmen, set in suburban New York, is a more serioso gloss on [common] guy themes. Full Review
