Based loosely on a novel and directed by Millwall supporter Nick Love who clearly enjoys hard British gangs and fights you start to wonder if he participated in things like these himself haha. Basically this film is about football hooligans which belong to 'Firms' and enjoy nothi... read moreng better than to beat the crap out of each other every weekend, whatever your poison I guess ;)

The film is actually pretty decent and does keep you glued to the screen as oppsing firms clash, lets be honest here there is nothing else on offer really, you know its about footie hooligans and you just wanna watch them fight lol, this film mainly follows Millwall and Chelsea.
The plot is reasonably interesting as it follows Danny Dyer and his moral dilemma of wether or not to continue being in a firm, nothing amazingly original and not too hard to predict either but like I said you watch the film for the violence period.

You know what your getting with this so for a footie hooligan flick its probably the best out there with a good cast of your regular cockney lads. Doesn't paint a very good picture of England lets be honest but truth be told we're just a bunch of hardnuts ;)

If I?m honest (and this will sound like I am stating the obvious here) Football hooliganism is very much all this film is about. It offers no moral to the story, like many of the films in this genre, but a very realistic view of what goes on behind the scenes of the game.

We?re used to seeing Danny Dyer in films containing violence and paired up again with Director Nick Love, this film had the potential to be the film of all Football Hooligan films to me. Now I know I'm a Woman and not quite in my teens any more, but anyone who knows me, knows that I prefer lad movies and don't shy away from the violent ones, it was a watchable film, but didn't haven't anything great about it.

Did not enjoy this at all. It was boring and full of violence and I know that was the point of the film but it's not my thing. It's good in the way it showed people that things go wrong and people can get hurt and I also liked the little side story about the grandfather and deali... read moreng with his loss. Not a bad film but Nick Love isn't as good a director as he thinks he is. The Business is still his best work but I'm starting to think it was just luck. It?s not that I didn't enjoy this film, it?s just that the characters, as entertaining as they are, are too stereotypical. The... read morere's too many 'Leave it outs' & 'Shut up you mugs' in it for me. Good that they make the point that Football hooliganism has nothing to do with football though. The three things us Brits do well are, Queuing, complaining and football hooliganism but I guess a film about the first two would be rubbish. Still, leave it out Mr Love, ain't you seen the firm? You tart! **Interesting how I wrote this review a couple of years ago and now he?s actually remade The Firm! Ha!**

Hooligan firm movie £10. Ticket to the game £30. Ticket to Wembley £120. Seeing Danny Dyers head kicked in every ten minutes PRICELESS. For everything else there the 6.37

Its just about fighting, something I see everyday so it was boring for me ^_^

This movie is very crazy...high testosterone. But, I enjoyed it...I covered my eyes on some violent scenes.

It is filmed in a very real and cold fashion, with a similar raw feel to Lock Stock and Snatch. Although the language is exceptionally harsh, it is very amusing with some classic lines that you can easily find yourself repeating long after the film has finished.

This was the drugged up view of the squeaky clean version of "Green Street Hooligans". Watchable...but a short changed ending.
  • September 21, 2009
If Green Street is West Ham - polished and Premier League, this film is Millwall: a lower division that can still pull punches but doesn't learn from its mistakes. Dyer plays the same cockney wide-boy he always seems to play and even after having the shit kicked out of him he doe... read moresn't change. Green Street showed how pointless this kind of violence is, this film seems to revel in it. It's still watchable and the fights are more brutal, but Green Street comes out of this battle the winner.
