As a condition of his parole, Bobby moves into his mother's old, inner city apartment and starts reaching out to some old friends. Unfortunately for Bobby, no one answers. Meanwhile, as the girl Bobby loves seems to drift ever further away, he begins to hear the same sounds that his mother once complained about echoing through the hallways of the building. At first it's just a minor nuisance, but when Bobby begins to catch the sound of violent confrontations from an adjacent apartment, he quickly realizes that something is horribly amiss. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This movie started out decent. However it seemed the scriptwriter could not come up with an ending, so they just faded out at the end. Could have been a better movie if they had tied up the ends. This seems to happen alot in these kinds of movies. It's a shame...

A very scary ghost film with creepy scenes\imagery. Interesting story, too.

"The Echo" is a very fine and atmospheric film. Delivering some frightening chills and good and believable acting.
It s a decent step up to after a couple of awful Asian horror remake that were release lately.

An ex-convict settles at his dead mother's apartment and tries to get back to his old life, but things get more complicated when he begins hearing noises and seeing people in the next room.

This horror movie is based on an origina...l Filipino thriller entitled Sigaw. Hollywood ... read moreproducers stick to their reputation of claiming "re-making" Asian movies but actually, it's just retaining the main characters and a completely different plot is spun. I must say that I have mixed feelings about this movie; while I couldn't be more proud to see hollywood take interest in a locally-made movie, I just didn't think it was as scary as I had heard it would be. The scares mostly rely on sound which I found irritating.

From producers of The Ring & The Grudge comes THE Echo (hmm go figure). This movie is extremely similar to those, well let's just face it, superior films of the same genre.
Decent enough yet forgettable... but hey, I didn't turn it off.

It makes sense that it is produced by the same people that produced The Grudge and The Ring cause all of the thrills are similar to the ones in those films.

creepy & Suspenseful this ?Echo? isn?t someone constantly being mocked or repeating themselves but what happens in the apartment next door to Bobby?s (an Ex-con who moves back into dead mother?s apartment) Only he and another tenant hears the noises and odd goings on. Jesse Br... read moreadford from Swim Fan stars) Doesn?t really need to be on blu-ray actually dvd might make it a bit creepier looking (bluray makes things a bit too ?clean? for certain movies.) maybe a C+ (I love Kevin Durand as bad guys he?s just so intimidating & creepy alone)

The ending was really good, although the movie itself was slow. I got bored after the beginning, and didn't become interested until the end, which was the only climax.

The movie was ok but I did not like the ending!! Hmm I would not recommend unless you don't have anything to do.

Much better than I was expecting. It?s a moody and atmospheric horror flick, the acting is good, the special effects are fine and it has some very chilling moments. There are a few slow spots, but overall it?s quite decent.
