Two charming kids and the boy's grandfather spend time in limbo between life and death. It is a strange fantasy world that seems free of trouble except for a creepy circus, which is named the dust factory. The youngsters amidst falling for each other are forced to confront some p... read morehilosophy about life and death, pleasure and pain. Some of it is thought-provoking. Many of the special effects suggest a fantasy world I've never seen before in a movie, but it is obvious the effects had a low budget. Artistically it seemed the writer/director thought they were being clever dealing with these deep issues, but I was uncomfortable with the death themed circus and many of the grandfather's lessons were nonsensical.

The concept of the story made me hope for something more profound than I got here. Apparently life and death all comes down to a simple jump!

This is the weirdest movie I think Ive ever seen in my life! It was so off the wall and I didnt understand anything that happened. But it wasnt bad cause it wasnt boring. It made me think alot, but at the end I still had no idea what was going on. But it was good in a weird way.

Simply incredible. I'm going to buy it and watch it a few more times just to soak it all in. Major kudos to all the folks who risked their careers making something as deep and innocent as this.

This was one of those strange, weird movies that you can tell is going to be weird and strange right from the beginning. It was like the movie "Millions". (It might have been stranger or less strange. I don't remember "Millions" too much.) It was one of those where it thinks it's... read more being all deep and philosophical and stuff but you're just sitting there saying, "wait, where did that come from?" and "what in the world is that about?". I think Hayden Panettierre is pretty when she's smiling; in all the things she's doing now, she looks too depressed and sad and angry all the time. Maybe she just plays in sad roles. I don't know. Anyway, very, very odd movie. I was expecting it to be, though, so not too surprised.

A tedious, precious fantasy about a boy faced with choosing between life and death -- an endless existence in limbo is actually more like it. Full Review

A well-intentioned but unconvincing fable.

It would have made a much more powerful short than full-length movie. Full Review

It's all very whimsical and fluffy, but the bottom line is, who cares? Full Review

It could use a better title, although this awful one certainly captures the film's tedium. Full Review

It's the dreariest children's story I've ever seen... gloomy, depressing, and way too long. Somebody get the Hoover - back to dust is where this movie needs to go. Full Review

It's actually just kind of stupid.

Comes across like an earnest after-school special disfigured by off-putting fantasy elements and bloated with self-indulgent touches. Full Review
