Lauren Weisberger's best-selling novel about a young woman who stumbles into the hectic worlds of high fashion and publishing comes to the big screen in this comedy. Andrea "Andy" Sachs (Anne Hathaway... read more read more...) is a bright young woman from the Midwest who has just graduated from college and wants to work as a magazine writer. Andy has applied for a job at "Runway," America's most prestigious fashion journal; though Andy has little to no interest in the garment trade, they are one of the only magazines in New York with a job opening -- second assistant to editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). As Andy quickly learns, Miranda is a diva with plenty of power within the magazine business and she isn't afraid to use it, and though Andy lands the job (primarily by being in the right place at the right time), she soon learns that working for Miranda could test the patience of a saint thanks to her endless demands and refusal to acknowledge the end of a work day. Andy struggles to hold on to the job and her sanity, knowing that a recommendation from Miranda can open nearly any door at any magazine, but can she handle the pressure without losing her mind along the way? The Devil Wears Prada also stars Stanley Tucci, Emily Blunt, and Adrian Grenier. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

For me The Devil Wears Prada was overwhelmingly cliched and relied too much on it's parodic stylings of the fashion industry that it didn't seem to do anything to further my interest in it. Apart from of... read more course the great performances from Hathaway and Streep. If you want to see a more ambitious film with the same surrealist take on fashion then I would recommend the film "Zoolander" highly. Honestly, it could have done a lot more than it did and it could have been a lot funnier than it was.

Having read the source novel not too long ago, I was disappointed with some of the changes, but I have to say they were not bad changes. The Devil Wears Prada is a hilarious comedy with an always fantastic Meryl Streep (deserving of that Oscar nom.) and Anne Hathaway delivering ... read morea great performance. The story isn't much, but the characters are genuine and relatable. At the end of the day, The Devil Wears Prada is witty and good evening comedy.

An entertaining adaptation garbed with the glamorous and the fabulous, The Devil Wears Prada presents the fashion industry in alluring nimble drama and modest comedy that narrates determination and passion. Lustrous.

Okay, I know im a guy, but this film was better than I'd hope. I never thought in my life that meryl Steep could play such an @$$hole, but she pulls it off with flying colors, and deserved the Oscvar nom. Anne Hathaway is what every girl wants to be, a nobody who gets a lot of ... read moremoney and becomes a somebody, but then abuses the power, and thats why the lot didn't excite me, but interested me. There is really nothing more interesting about the caharcers other than Meryl streep and and Anne Hathaway. So ladies eat your hearts out, and I will always just like this movie, just "like."

I'm not as crazy a fan of Devil Wears Prada as some are, but these are the things I did like: Meryl Streep's cerulean speech, Emily Blunt talking about barfing, and Stanley Tucci. But it's a very surface-level movie, and it's not one that I'd ever watch again of my own accord.

What a really entertaining movie!! Meryl Streep gives us her Oscar performance and Hathaway stills our 'princess charming'. It's a pleasure to see how they two can make this movie 'work'. And the fashion were great!!! I just really wondering if I can work in that place.... I'm pretty confident that I'm one of the only guys in the world that seriously likes this film. I think it's more than just a chick-flick; it serves, also, as a film about life in general. Great performances by Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. Solid performances by the supporting ... read moreactors Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt as well. I really love this film!

The biggest problem with the movie, however, is that it tries to make a big deal out of a subject that has been beaten to death in the tabloids and the media. Full Review
