Despite Woody reportedly having hated this film, I actually kinda liked it. It's entertaining enough, witty enough, jazzy enough, and fun enough to merit a second watch. Even though Woody and Helen Hunt have absolutely zero chemistry together. The ending was quite fun.

Woody Allen's visit to the detective movies of the 30s is full of hilarious and witty dialoges. Especially how his own insurance investigator character battles Helen Hunt's with words and her responses alone are pleasure to watch. The main idea of people committing robberies unde... read more

Fun and refreshing with so many cute & smart lines, The ending is terrible though

Not the best Woody Allen. Loved Helen Hunt but her delivery of the long, bitter diatribes got slightly stale. Charlize Theron was surprisingly, devoid of sexuality; her attempt to channel the sophisticated disdain of 1940s Lauren Bacall sounded rushed and self-consciously bored.

Woody is rusted already, he should seriously consider retirement.

The romance between C.W. and Betty Ann doesn't have much ardor, repressed or otherwise. Full Review
Mid-level, pretty-but-not- hugely-funny Allen film.
It's evidently important to Allen to work, work, work, but he's starting to make his movies by rote instead of passion. Full Review
[Allen's] let his guard down and has allowed himself and his audience to relax -- something that doesn't often happen when the specters of class and European art hover over his pictures. Full Review
Despite an appealing, even ingenious premise, Scorpion is another quippy but uninspired comedy.
Many of the jokes fall flat, and the film has a musty smell about it, like an apartment someone has been living in for too long. Yet the picture plays out pleasantly, and Allen creates a world that's ... Full Review
In spite of its dated ways -- or perhaps because of them -- it just may be the most youthful film you'll see this summer. Full Review
About as insignificant as a movie can be without blowing right off the screen.
The frothiest, funniest comedy he has made since Manhattan Murder Mystery. Full Review
