3 and 3/4's. Pretty good. I'm not really on board with alot of French films, but this was rather enjoyabe. EXCEPT...they threw in some strange fight scene, with an even stranger video game sound effect voice over. MINUS half a point for that lame move....otherwise, pretty decent ... read more

It's the Silence of the Lambs meets Seven. A first-rate edge of your seat thriller. Spine-tingling, heart-racing and nerve-frying. Chilling and unforgettable. A breathtaking thrill-ride. Tension and suspense in unbearable doses that will blow you away all the way to the explosive... read more

Interesting, kinda grisly drama about two detectives solving two seemingly unrelated cases in France. Jean Reno and vincent Cassell are two great actors, so that's what drew me into this film. Has a good pace and, although I got a little bit lost I quickly caught up and really en... read more

This French speaking, English sub-titled film, was a refreshing enjoyable watch with superb performances by Jean Reno and Vincent Cassel.
The only bad for me is that I don't think it will reach the desired audience purely because of the sub-titles which is a shame.
Critic Reviews
Could teach many an American thriller a thing or two about sophisticated creepiness.
It ends up being more about stage blood and stupid plot tricks.
By movie's end, you'd swear you were on Hollywood Boulevard, with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon 11.
Some actors are just automatically the moral locus of every scene they're in. They're the major movie stars, and Reno is one of those. Full Review
The digressions and diversions eventually overwhelm the narrative. Full Review
The tissue-thin script adaptation ... grows more ridiculous by the minute.
A lot of The Crimson Rivers is slick, quasi-menacing fun.
