"THAT SHI CRAY." That was my response after watching "The Crazies". The crazies in the movie are CRAY. It's not the usual mindless zombies that we're used to; these guys are smart, use tools, communicate, and set traps. As you can imagine, you don't wanna run into these guys. The... read more

A well made horror remake thats tense and quite scary. In the style of horror classic such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre its scary without blood and gore.

A small town finds itself under seige from the military when its water supply is contaminated by a biological weapon that turns its inhabitants into psychopathic killers. The Crazies is a remake of a (rather bad) George Romero film from the 1970s that had a promising concept but ... read more

Surprising solid. Definitely a few too many "convenient" moments, but that's common for horror films. Overall, I really liked this one. I definitely recommend it!

It was a pretty solid horror film. It was scary, but funny in some parts. It was worth the watch.
The only thing that really bothered me about this film was the fact that certain people would get caught in a nasty situation, then some other person would bail them out of troubl... read more -

A mad-house of big scares, chills, thrills and suspense. A smart, spine-tingling and nerve-frying edge of your seat horror thrill-ride. One of the best horror movie remakes since 2003's Dawn of the Dead. A pulse-racing, adrenaline-fulled roller-coaster of a movie. An exhilarating... read more
Critic Reviews
While it loses the charm of Romero's low-budget clunkiness, it is in all other regards superior. Full Review
The incoherence is made all the more disappointing because Eisner displays a great deal of raw talent for the genre's tone and set pieces. Full Review
It's kind of crazy, but it's also pretty smart. And if your nervous system can stand it, you should see it. Full Review
The blood is certainly convincing these days, but it generally flows only in the safest and most inoffensive, uncontroversial directions. Full Review
It devolves to simple run-and-hide cliches, usually accompanied by jarring musical jolts. Full Review
Romero had quite a lot on his mind, back in the day: Vietnam, the Kent State shootings, a wicked distrust of the military and the Man in general. Eisner has almost nothing on his mind. Full Review
If there's a message in all this, it's buried in blood splatter. Which is fine, but makes The Crazies more disappointing than if it had less lofty goals. Full Review
The filmmakers seem less clear on what really made those early Romero films great, which is something that, by definition, can't be re-created by any level of loving craftsmanship: They were timely. Full Review
Even on the level of killer-virus-gone-wild gore-fest, The Crazies as rejiggered by Eisner is a dud. Full Review
