A bit slow going at the start but a darker, Narnia with a solid action packed middle and end that my daughter and I enjoyed. Now they have to somehow pull off the next books which in my opinion were not so good.

An improvement to the last film but then The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe has been done to death and it's nice to see the next chapter brought to life. It's better than I expected but it still lacks the excitement I experienced when reading the book in my youth. I did like th... read more

July 14, 2012fb100000293612769The movie is great to look at, but it is so far from the quality of the first film that it cannot help but feel like a straight to DVD follow up or a TV special. The film is chalk full of uncomfortable acting and unnecessary deviations from the text, such as a cringeworthy hinted... read more

This is an excellent movie. A year has passed since the four children were in Narnia, but they are transported back to find that the Narnia they left has become extinct. They work with Prince Caspian, the rightful heir to Narnia to save the Narians from the evil Miraz. There are ... read more

This looks very good, really good, despite my dislike of too much cgi this film does look and feel true. But thats it really, this is basically the same as we've seen before over and over now with other films like 'LOTR', 'Labyrinth', 'Golden Compass', 'Legend' etc...the final ba... read more

It is such a sad thing to see that all the magic from the first film is nowhere to be seen here. Prince Caspian is clearly aimed for a bit older audience than the first. It is also way too serious for it's own good. Almost half of the film is just one long battle sequence without... read more

The second adventure of the Pevensie kids in the fantasy world of Narnia starts out rather slow. There is a lot of wandering through woods before things finally start moving. The plot is accordingly simple: arrive in Narnia, gather an army, help Caspian become king. Of course tha... read more

Here again are all the elements that made the original a fun ride, and this movie plays just as well as the first one did. I liked the fact that there is a human villain in this one, and the war isn't a clear-cut exercise in good magic against evil magic. While I still don't like... read more

Not nearly as good as the first, But it wasnt as bad as I had expected it to be.
Critic Reviews
Adamson barrels the action along in an even-handed manner that should keep most of the family happy. Full Review
Adamson adjusts to the darker tone nicely, but the kids, so richly drawn in the first film, often seem to be carried along in the wake of the chugging plot. Full Review
Too many fights, not enough magic.
At every turn, the filmmakers go for clutter and tumult where simplicity would do -- and Adamson, to put it kindly, isn't the fleetest of action directors. Full Review
Prince Caspian may be less full of innocent wonder than its predecessor, but it is a smarter, better film. Like its young stars, the Narnia franchise has, for better and worse, grown up. Full Review
I wish I could be more enthusiastic about Prince Caspian, an honorable and attractive adventure for children and families. But scenic beauty and spirited action can't conceal its dramatic defects. Full Review
Andrew Adamson's The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is a much more elaborate, ambitious picture than the 2005 The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and it adds up to fa... Full Review
If you ever wondered what The Lord of the Rings would have been like had Disney made it on the cheap, tossing the cast of Hannah Montana into Middle Earth, here it is. Caspian is two hours and 20 minu... Full Review
What's important here is that Narnia -- and its fascinating all-ages mix of pagan myth and Christian symbolism, of boy's-own-adventures and Round Table heroics -- is back. Full Review
