A great heartfelt feel-good film based on a true story. Great performances from the lead character and Sandra Bullock adds a touch of charm to her role. Plenty of fun light-hearted moments along the way. A story that will keep your interest to the very end. Nice touch to see the... read more

About as cliché as they come, but an enjoyable film none the less. To watch Sandra Bullock's Oscar-winning performance before her husband self-destructed (and nearly took Sandra down with him) must have been very different than it is to watch it afterward; and I think, even befor... read more

January 3, 2012fb100001592288964Sandra Bullock's great, but the Hallmark card cliches continuously pile upon each other which get very repetitive and annoying.

The Blind Side is an inspirational drama, Bullock should be commended. After being left on the street, Micheal Oher (Quinton Aaron) is taken in by the Tiohy family, by the love of the mother Leigh Anne (Sandra Bullock) she gets him into sports, into college, and into a family th... read more

This film benefits from a decent performance by Sandra Bullock, but the conventional story could have been much better if it weren't so patronising in its disgusting message that a black young boy like Big Mike should always do as he is ordered by his "white Republican superiors"... read more

October 28, 2011fb729949618If this film doesn't move you then something is wrong. I believe (if i'm correct) that this film is based on a true story. Don't want to give away too much, but the young man who is taken in has his life turned upside down, for the better. Brilliant acting all around and especial... read more

Finding the right balance between sports, comedy and family drama, The Blind Side is one heart-warming, inspirational film with a great performance from Sandra Bullock. She is definitely deserving of that Oscar.

July 31, 2011fb732260458Even as a true story it has its share of genre cliches; however, The Blind Side is nonetheless a moving tale which benefits from strong performances from the cast and a knack for avoiding the typical stereotypes and racial profiling that often haunt similar films. The characters ... read more

Seriously think this movie is overrated. I didn't hate it, but I didn't at all like it. The pacing was terrible and the acting was horrid.

Better than the reviews say--or, in other words, it lives beyond its reviews. I hate football like I hate my own feces, but this film is more than JUST football. It's a sweet, never-sour, touching film that reaches the very bottom of your heart.
Critic Reviews
However obvious, The Blind Side is touching -- despite its habit of dropping major character notes into the melody without warning. Full Review
Oherâ(TM)s life is meant to make us feel good, and it mostly does. But how good we feel about his story is proportional to how blind weâ(TM)re willing to be about how itâ(TM)s told. Full Review
Writer-director John Lee Hancock has turned Oher's remarkable life into a Hollywood fable that trades difficult truths for easy clichés. Full Review
What a drag that, one year into Obama's presidency, American films remain so careful about depicting black actors. Full Review
It's a cute, touchy-feely crowd pleaser that wants nothing more than to wrap audiences in a warm holiday embrace. In a sense, it achieves that goal, but it is overly sentimental in a Lifetime movie ki... Full Review
We never learn why Leigh Anne is so fearless, but Bullock is the force here. McGraw is an amiable anchor to her bull-by-the-horns portrayal. Full Review
Upon seeing [Bullock's] Oscar-worthy performance is "finally!" followed quickly by, "Why the heck did it take so long?" Full Review
The filmmakers pay lip service to the story's racial undertones without ever really rocking the leaky boat. Full Review
A movie made up almost entirely of turning points and yet curiously devoid of drama or suspense.
