    This movie changes the cast a bit, and it's not as funny as the first either, I really didn't care for it.

    If you can get past the fact that Matthau isn't in this, it's actually a really good sequel bringing back almost all the kids from the original film. William Devane does a great job as the replacement coach. Jackie Earle Haley is alittle older but is still effective as the know ... read moreit all, rebel kid with a heart of gold. This is also a great kids road movie too, its a shame its taken me this long to see it.
    All in all you could do alot worse for a sequel to such a well known film from the 70s.

    this is second sequel to "the bad news bears" that without an starring walter matthau who did the first one. very good sequel better than the third one "the bad news bears go to japan" beside first one original. the teams bears is back from the first one with new pitcher and the ... read morecoach. jackie earle haley is the excellent role kelly leak and addition cast william devane is great also as kelly leak's father and the coach.

    Alot of people like the original better and I can respect that but this is my favorite Bad News Bears movie. They fire their new coach, bribe the slow groundskeeper to pose as their coach and chaperone for their parents, and drive to Houston in a stolen van unattended to play a b... read moreunch of rednecks in a sanctioned exhibition championship game in the Astrodome and its all sponsored by Budweiser. My favorite character is Tanner Boyle and his wonderful politically incorrect late 70's mouth. William Devane plays Kelly's estranged father who agrees to coach the team. The original is good, this ones great, dont bother with Japan, and forget they ever did a remake.
