Their business has become so successful that the girls decide to expand their horizons and start a summer day camp for kids; however, they soon discover that not all the adults in the neighborhood think this is a good idea, and they learn a lesson about cooperation and responsibility. Meanwhile, Kristy (Schuyler Fisk), the leader of the group, lives with her mother (Brooke Adams) and stepfather (Bruce Davison); when her father (Peter Horton), an undependable wanderer, shows up, he asks Kristy not to tell her mother that he's in town, and Kristy is torn about what to say. Stacy (Bre Blair) has another sort of dilemma to deal with; she's tall and pretty and has met a boy who likes her. However, he thinks she's older than she actually is, leading her into a dating dilemma that she may not be ready for. The Baby Sitters Club was the first theatrical feature for actress-turned-director Melanie Mayron; Schuyler Fisk is the daughter of actress Sissy Spacek and director/designer Jack Fisk. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Giiirl, I do not even care how many people know how much I love this movie. Although the so-called "serious" problem Kristy had with her spineless dad was boring, this brings back childhood memories to the max. Sissy Spacek's daughter was surprisingly impressive, Rachel Leigh Coo... read morek was an amazing Mary Ann, and Bre Blair is gorgeous, even at 15 or however old she was. I really want to be friends with all seven of them even though as of now I'm, like, more than four years older than them. I would be Stacey's creepy boyfriend Luca. There is surprisingly a lot of kissing for a middle school movie.

This is exactly what you'd expect it to be, so I wouldn't feel justified in bashing it. It's just a bunch of really good babysitter friends that make a daycare to pool together their strengths. A lot of future female stars were jump-started by this. Somehow I found this just as t... read moreouching as my fellow six year old classmates, that were girls.

Of course it's a cheesy kid movie, however, I was obsessed with the book series as a child. I also watched the Disney channel TV series, so when the movie came out I was really excited and watched it all the time. So for me, it's still great!

Once again, embarrassed to say that I'v seen most of this. Watch it and seriously tell yourself that you were blown away... You might be stricken down with the plague immediately after

It's hard to put the hard-hitting drama of the Baby Sitters Club series to film, but they did it...they did it to the sunflowery Baby Sitters Club finest.

OK. So when this movie came out I swear it was great...but now I realize how lame it is and obviously how lame I was. In my defense I was only 12 when this movie came out and the books kicked a**.

This was cute. Rachel Leigh Cook is so young in it but looks the exact same. The 17 and 13 year old relationship was a little odd though.

What fun memories. Reading the baby-sitters club books and watching the movies on vhs. How outdated is that?
  • August 23, 2007
I used to love the books, so when the movie came out I was a little excited. It's a little childish now, but at the time these girls were among my best friends.
