The motion-capture animation is some of the best I've ever seen. It manages to find the right balance between realism and cartoonish characterization. The film has a stunning visual art to it that creates an amazing setting to each frame. Steven Spielberg really knows what he is... read more doing when it comes to action/adventure films.

Maybe not many would agree bout my rating here....
But I do believe this is the greatest movie in 2011, perfect picture, good story line, deep character....
And there's gonna be more I believe...

For all the effort with the animation & the great voice cast, the likes of Pegg & Frost were wasted in it. The story lets the film down. Who was their target audience?

A great adventure movie; better than the last Indiana Jones Crystal Skull effort. I like how they've combined three different Tintin books to make a somewhat new story. The characters are a bit bland, and the animation is a weird mix of realism and Tintin book styles. I was surpr... read moreised Captain Haddock spoke with a Scottish accent. Overall, I liked it. I'm eagerly awaiting more Tintin adaptations done with the same group of people.

It was a good movie for the whole family. :) But sadly I end up falling asleep, because it did too much talking. :(

The plot was lacking, but otherwise it was entertaining and cute.

brings back the excitement and the adventure of reading the comic/books as a kid. fun and entertaining.

I thought the movie was horrible, even though I really enjoyed the actors in their real forms.

Visually stunning adventure from Steven Spielberg. How this didn't get nominated for best animated movie at the Oscars is beyond me as the animation is incredible. The movie itself is both exciting and funny with great set pieces and memorable characters. Recommended.

You don't need to be a fan of - or indeed have more than a passing acquaintance with - the original Tintin comics to enjoy this film and I've read most of the comics. Motion capture, which transforms actors into cartoon characters in a vividly animated landscape, is the technique... read more Spielberg has been waiting for - the Christmas gift ... that he's dreamed of since his movie childhood, the visuals are the best I've ever seen in a fully CGI film, dare I say better than Pixar. Of course the plot is based on one of TinTin's comic books but is magically brought to life in stunning computer graphic and motion capture. The cast are great, fitting into the roles nicely. This is a great adaption of Herge's creation and is so true to the comics but a few scenes seemed out of place and it was like Spielberg but his own ideas in it that slowed the film down, but never that...this is an epic CGI film that will blow you away with it's CG effects. Like I said, this is the best fully CGI film I've ever seen...to date, it was just missing that little spark that made the comic books compelling.

I thought about seeing this when it was in theaters, but decided not to because I'm so often disappointed in animated films. I really wish I had, because this is spectacular. It's beautiful to look at, because it's some of the most detailed animation I've ever seen, but it also h... read moreas a great story that is safe for kids, but also interesting to adults. There's a great element of mystery and adventure, and I got so much more than I bargained for with this movie.

This movie had amazing animation. It looked so really I had to keep reminding myself it wasn't. It was action heavy but I didn't mind it. I thought it had a great story, and I was really pulled into the whole world. It was superbly done.
