He figures his time would be better spent playing baseball with his friends or helping his grown-up buddy Arthur Zabladowski (Peter Lind Hayes), a plumber. One night, while fast asleep, Bart has a long and remarkable dream in which he's trapped in the kingdom of the fearsome Dr. T, who has enslaved hundreds of little boys, forcing them to practice on the world's largest piano until they drop. With the help of a friendly plumber, Bart plans a revolt that will topple Dr. T's evil empire once and for all. The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T also features several songs for which Geisel contributed lyrics. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This is an odd movie, but it's based on a Dr. Seuss book, so this movie does a good job representing that. Overall the style is good, but the actors and songs aren't so great.

Dr Suess wrote the screenplay and lyrics, and clearly had a hand in designing the sets...but this movie is still a weird and kind of hard to get into fantasy film. I would definitely say it i worth a look, and quite frankly I'd like to see it again sometime, for I do love Dr. Su... read moreess, but I'm not guaranteeing high quantities of entertainment on this one.

Great kids film. The "fight" scene's choreography is downright hypnotic. I had no idea there was a Dr. Seuss musical.

A very fun and creative story that is backed up with a fun cast that really puts you into the mind of dr. suess

So THIS is what it feels like to be on drugs! Quite a few screen caps can be used for a NAMBLA poster. You really wonder what Dr. Seuss was thinking.....

I personally like this film a lot. I think Willy Wonka borrowed a lot of ideas from it. It was hilarious in some parts and really showed how great movies were 50 years ago or more. They really put their imagination into it, instead of these movies that come out every year that ha... read mores the same crappy story line.

Oh, and this movie was not made in 2000. Probably re-done maybe. I think the original was made in the '50s or '60s

The only screenplay written by Dr. Seuss--with a production design carefully crafted in the "Dr. Seuss style" this hysterical film is well worth your time. HIGHLY recommended.

The bizarre dream world of a mad piano genius/gestapo leader. Very entertaining, if not always great. Is part of my discovery of the world of musicals. The symphony of instruments in the middle is probably the most entertaining part.

It IS as bizarre as it sounds. I think it's cool becasue of novelty reasons.....Dr. Seuss did the set decoration. No, i'm not kidding. He really did.

I felt traumatized from watching this movie. The friend who recomended it afterward sat rocking back and forth for five minutes, oblivious to outside stimuli, saying to himself, "It wasn't my fault. It wan't my fault. It wasn't my fault."
