Dr. Alice Dodgson (Jennifer Grey) is an open-minded oncologist whose experiments with an unapproved drug have just cost her patient his life and found her license to practice medicine promptly revoked. Subsequently summoned to Jamaica by affluent American Paul Claybourne (Craig Sheffer), Dr. Dodgson is assigned the duty of caring for Claybourne's cancer-stricken brother, Wesley (Daniel Lapaine). Though Dr. Dodgson at first dismisses the local tales of zombies and possession as mere superstition while she cares for the increasingly despondent Wesley, her growing feelings for her patient soon bring her to the realization that Wesley is not suffering from cancer after all, but the powerful curse of a local witch doctor.     A doctor loses her license for trying to save a young girl. Moves to Jamaica to help a rich man's brother. However while what he has looks like one thing its something a bit different and then some. Think along the lines of Voodoo & who you think is the 'big man' (voodoo Preiest)... read more is not who they lead you to believe, I was slightly thrown off as to who it was but they were in that circle so I was close at least. However this wasn't as cool as the other movies from the Tale from the Crypt it grew boring at times. So this one D

    I didn't realize this was a Tales from the Crypt film until just now. Somehow that just makes it worse. Do yourself a favor and stick with the original, Val Lewton's "I Walked With a Zombie." And can someone please tell me why if it's so hot in Jamaica, why is Jennifer Grey alway... read mores nipping out?

    This movie is loosely based on the Val Lewton classic I Walked With a Zombie. Where that movie was literate, atmospheric, poetic, and truly spooky, this one is none of the above. It offers an updated version of the storyline, which is okay with me but which adds little to the fil... read morem. It isn't actually a bad movie; it just isn't a particularly good one. Just okay entertainment with a bit of gore and some pretty nice scenery.

    Horrible, this was so slow paced. This didnot have the Tales From the Crypt feeling to it. I could just barely keep myself awake to watch this boring movie.
