S.W.A.T. is a much better movie than it gets credit for. In terms of bring a t.v. show to life, it does a beautiful job. It trows these characters and basic plot into a realistic setting. Even just as a pure action movie it's great. I've always had a soft spot for this, due to it... read more

Pretty good action film based on the TV series of the 1970s cult classic police. S.W.A.T. group delivers all the pulse-pounding thrills and high-octance action you're looking for.
I see Colin Ferrel plays one of 'a bit good hearted' S.W.A.T. officers in this movie as well... read more -

You're either SWAT or you're not. How true, how true. Well I am deffinately down with the SWAT. Of course at times it is perfectly ridiculous, but it's good ridiculous and the action is well fun. Sure it lacks in some departments, but there are worse things that could happen.

There is something sneakily gratifying about all this. Full Review
A rigmarole of stranded clichés and thrill-free action-movie legerdemain. Full Review
The director, a TV guy named Clark Johnson, doesn't shoot action very well, which is sort of a handicap. Full Review
You can't get mad at it -- except for the two hours of your life it steals from you. Full Review
Director Clark Johnson strives for realistic detail and action. Unfortunately, such adherence to technical purity proves to be a weakness for the movie. Full Review
There have been far worse movies this summer, but the best justification for seeing this spinoff of the mid-'70s TV series is if your date or mate is holding you hostage in the theater. Full Review
S.W.A.T. has blockbuster ambitions, but it develops characters and plot at a leisurely pace better suited to the small screen than the big one. Full Review
SWAT is better than Gigli, but so is most outpatient surgery. Full Review
Despite the usual macho posturing and testosterone poisoning that are the hallmarks of such projects, S.W.A.T. finds some room for a comfortable lived-in quality among a small, likable cast that exude... Full Review
