A group of crazed young neo-Nazi vigilantes try to take over California's beaches in a campy apocalyptic saga that takes place after a devastating earthquake wipes out half of the Golden State's popul... read more read more...ation. A rival gang of surfers is challenging the Surf Nazis' turf, and the beaches turn into battlefields. One of the Nazi's leaders is named Adolf, and he tries to make love to his girlfriend on the sands but is rebuffed. The anti-Nazi fighters are led by an overweight surf gangster named Leroy's Mama, who uses hand grenades to dispatch the Surf Nazis one at a time. The film is a cult classic of bad acting and poorly staged special effects. It's a product of Troma Studios, which specializes in such intentionally tasteless and cheap low-budget films aimed at the collegiate market. ~ Michael Betzold, Rovi

For those of you that have been living in caves, and haven't seen this, this is a Troma "pick up" from 1987 that is a wonder to behold. To be truthful, it's fairly well done for what it is, which is "beachploitation trash". LA has been hit by "The Big One", 8.6, and it's pretty m... read moreuch anything goes, at least at the beach. Surf Nazis rule the beach, the waves, and whatever else their demented little minds tell them. Now, when a black man is killed by the Surf Nazis his mom, who is by no means ready for the rest home in which she's now living, decides to take matters into her own hands. There are also other rival surf "gangs" that don't take kindly to the claims of the SN's and attempt to fight back but with dire results. OK, sure, this is hokey and silly but it's also pretty fun, and I like the music & the beach scenes, in which it's all pretty deserted looking and lends some authenticity to the idea that there aren't many folks that actually survived this big quake, just a bunch of psychos fighting over surf supremacy. A classic 80's movie, fer shure.

This was a disappointment, being a Troma film and all, but it still gave me some entertainment and unexpected laughs. Wish they would've worked a plot into it, would've made it funnier.

This movie blows in pretty much every sense of the of the word. Not that that comes as a surprise to anyone. I recently saw it listed as the 9,328th best movie out of 9,331 movies made in America if that gives you any indication. Which leads me to my first question. Why do I ... read moreown two copies of this movie? I own the original and the directors cut. Why did I buy it a second time? I don't even remember doing that!

If I could I would rename this movie "Peter George's Diary of a Mad Black Woman" My reason for doing so is as follows. Nothing happens that's worth your time in this movie except the last 5 minutes when Gail Neely becomes a one woman wrecking crew. She's my kind of lady. Hmm I think I'll throw a grenade next to someone's head while they're sleeping. That'll wake em' up. Hmm I think I'll hold a gun to a guy's head and make him drive his boat over the surf nazis. Ok, sounds reasonable. Just your average Monday.

The worst part of this movie has to be the awful music. It's like having a masochistic 9 year old step son who hits the same five buttons on a sound board all day. If I were to sell this movie today I'd include a free "I survived the Surf Nazis" t-shirt with every copy.

There really isn't much else to say about this movie. It's retarded, and it will stunt your growth as a person, forever. Damn. Why do I own two copies of this?

With a title like this 'Surf Nazis Must Die', you'd be easily forgiven for imagining that this would-be cult classic might deliver some real b-movie thrills and chills. How disappointing, then, that the title is the best thing about this flaccid, clumsily paced 'action' thriller.... read more It's a story about a hefty grandmother (Gail Neely as 'Mama' Washington, the only other plus this thing has going for it) on a rampage against the post-apocalyptic surf maniacs who killed her only grandson... how the heck could this have made a bad film? Watch 'Surf Nazis' and find out. Seriously, this boring, flatly executed affair is an exercise in blown opportunities, and a waste of a great title to boot.

Just read the title and you'll know what to expect. First off theres these neo-nazi gang members who own beach territory off the coast of California after an Earthquake, and theres these other gangs that are mad that they are taking over. Then one day they kill a black man and hi... read mores mom goes nuts and decides that, you guessed it, SURF NAZIS MUST DIE! and she even goes out and buys grenades. It's really confusing about what to rate this, it wasn't boring, but I'd never call it good. Definite B Movie. It was also cool to see the In the Court of the Crimson King album cover painted on a wall, not that you care. Anyways yeah you won't be disappointed well because if you've read the title... what do you expect?

Not really a troma film but the marketing makes it seem so.My buddy made this for under a hundred thousand and it looks it but still it's amazing what he accomplished with that little as well. Not really a good film but fun at parts.I played Mengele and I had a blast. It was my fi... read morerst major role. The story behind how this got made is a better story than the film I only wish I had permission to tell it. A great title.

Intentional awfulness is still awful. Lacks the tacky charm of Troma's "best" films.
