This simple alien abduction tale seems to lean a lot on nostalgia, and getting a 50s sci-fi horror feel, even though the story isn't that good. The 50s ideology and atmosphere is there for the most part, but not all the way through, and I didn't like LeMat as the main character,... read more

Bad 80's movie, but I liked it back in the day. All in all, there really isn't any reason to see this movie. It's not funny, it's not scarey, it doesn't have a lot of action. it's just a run of the mill, boring old flick.

I see why this film developed cult statis. A classic 1983 science fiction film that has class and great actors. A very entertaining film. I remember seeing this film on HBO back in 1983, I still love this film.
Critic Reviews

Any sci-fi movie that features cameos by Kenneth Tobey and June Lockhart (both from television's Lost in Space) obviously has its heart in the right place. Full Review
