After an excruciatingly humiliating in-flight experience that culminated in a messy breakup and the untimely death of a dog, Nashawn Wade (Kevin Hart) sues the airline for all it's worth. This turns o... read more read more...ut to be a more than profitable move on his part; the lawsuit brings him a settlement in the hefty amount of 600 million dollars. Eager to prevent his experience from happening to another -- and perfectly willing to reap the financial benefits of the cash cow he believes his plan to be -- Nashawn decides to launch NWA, an all African American airline complete with sensuous stewardesses, an onboard dance club, and a bathroom attendant. Far be it from giving "flying the friendly skies" a new meaning, however, chaos ensues in the form of a white family with the unfortunate last name of Hunkee. The Hunkee patriarch (as played by Tom Arnold) and his antics prevent the flight from going as smoothly as intended. The feature debut of music video director Jessy Tererro, urban comedy regulars Snoop Dogg and Method Man co-star. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

one of the stupidest movies i've seen in my life but oddly entertaining.
  • March 29, 2010
One of the more ridiculous films I've ever seen. When it comes to "airplane comedies", the original "Airplane" from the 70's comes to mind. This to me is the industry standard and any aviation comedy that is released will be judged in comparison. "Soul Plane" has some entertainin... read moreg moments and the idea of a tripped out plane is cool at first, but it wears out its welcome quickly. I did like watching Sofia Vergara...what man wouldn't? :)

I had the extreme misfortune to watch this. It is in my list of the worst 5 movies ever (Juno tops it). It is not funny at all and is boring as hell. My brother and mum think it's hilarious, but they're idiots.

snoop dogg as a pilot smoking blunts and shit was enough alone to keep me laughing thru this surprisingly funny movie
  • June 20, 2007
Somewhat entertaining, retarded, and full of black stereotypes. I admit that I laughed at some parts but at the same time I shook my head and hoped it would end soon. Glad I didn't pay to go see it.
  • May 27, 2007
Blaxsploitation led by blacks, eh? If all you hear and see is stereotypical nonsense, it's only evident that you'll act just like your peers. In this case, if you watch this movie dozens of times (and surround yourself with thug posers and slutty hoodrats) you'll have no troubl... read moree blending in with this ghetto-turned-rich trash.

this is the reason "black People" get a bad rep. making stupid black exploitation movies. that is so 60's and 70's. this movie was bad from begining to end. and thats bad as in awful!!
  • December 23, 2011
It will be so hard to out-stereotype this film; but it's all fine, because that's all they were aiming for.
  • June 16, 2011
This movie just relies on stereotypical jokes for a laugh. It's not offering anything new or smart in it's humor, but it did made me laugh a lot. Not meant to be taken seriously by all means.

This nearly plotless movie follows the maiden voyage of NWA (a moniker that seems to be the extent of the film's wit) through a torrent of stale ghetto jokes in the vein exhausted years ago by the Way... Full Review

An hour and a half of real airplane turbulence is better than sitting through the bad, offensive material that makes up Soul Plane. Full Review

Makes up for what it lacks in genuine humor by overdosing viewers with outrageous sexuality and outsize stereotypes. Full Review

If it's not funny to you that a bunch of white passengers in polo shirts would say 'Oh, goody!' when they hear the in-flight movie stars Sandra Bullock, then don't bother with the rest of Soul Plane. Full Review
